Dear Community,
It is with a heavy heart that I announce my retirement from the sport of boxing, effective March 31, 2026, after 50 fulfilling years. This decision comes after much reflection and discussions with my family and close friends.
As a result, Ybarra’s Boxing Club will also close its doors on that date. I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to USA Boxing, as well as the communities of Colorado Springs, Fountain, Widefield, and Security, Colorado for their unwavering support throughout the years. As well as State, National and International boxing world that was associated with Ybarras Boxing Club.
Thank you all for being a part of this incredible journey.

Alex Frias in the blue also fought Saturday afternoon in Denver in the 16-17yr 120lbs division. 2-1split for his opponent. Awesome job, Alex.

Joel Orona in the blue. fought his first amateur boxing match in Denver. He did a great job by putting pressure and backing up his opponent with body shots and cutting him off. Unfortunately, we lost 2 to1 split decision.
