Thanks so much for dropping by the Naty for School Board page. For those of you who don't know me, I'd like to take a minute to introduce myself. My name is Naty Severson and I’m running for the Columbia Heights School Board. I grew up in Maple Grove, Minnesota and graduated from Osseo High School. I also graduated from the University of Minnesota where I studied geography and psychology. While in
college I met my husband and shortly after graduation we chose Columbia Heights to be our hometown. Columbia Heights has all the charm of a small town with the advantages of urban living and rich cultural diversity that strengthens our community and schools. We have been proud Hylanders for the past 14 years. Our three children have attended Columbia Heights public schools their entire academic career, and I am looking forward to the day I can see each of my kids cross the stage at a Hylander graduation. I have served on the Columbia Heights School Board since 2016 as the Board Clerk, Vice-Chair, and most recently, Chairperson. Prior to being on the Board, I served as the PTA president at North Park Elementary for four years. During this time I was able to rally a large number of parents to become actively engaged in our school community. I've been a part of organizing successful community events including the Hylander Hike and Turkey BINGO. I also served for many years coaching youth athletics. I believe that great schools play a significant role in generating pride in our community. I will work hard to increase community involvement in our schools through academic success, athletics, and the arts.
