"I want longevity.”

That’s what Olga said when she came to us.

She was already healthy and active. She was intentional about taking care of herself. She taught yoga, traveled frequently, ran her own business as an internationally known life coach, ate well, and made movement and meditation part of her everyday life.

So what did she need us for?

She knew that lifting heavy weights was an important investment in her future. She wanted to add strength training to her health practice—and she wanted to prepare her body to do it well.

(*News flash: You have to earn those heavy weights!* 😉)

During our comprehensive movement assessment, we identified opportunities to improve joint function and movement patterns so her body would be ready for the demands of heavy strength training.

From there, we created a plan built around Olga's unique needs. Together, we focused on building a foundation of stability, efficient movement, and strength.

Once that foundation was in place, we progressively increased the load.

And the results have been incredible:

✅ Her knee pain is gone.
✅ Her back pain is gone.
✅ She's running with confidence again.
✅ She's lifting heavier than ever before.
✅ Most importantly, she trusts her body again.

And we're just getting started.

What we're most proud of isn't just how much weight Olga lifts. It's that she committed to the process and built a body that's prepared for the life she wants to live.

Because strength isn't just about what happens inside the gym...

It's about saying yes to the hike.
It's about exploring new places.
It's getting the floor with your grandkids, and picking them up.
It's about traveling without wondering if your body can keep up.
It's about staying active, capable, and independent for years to come.

At Progressive Athletics, our team of Active Life Professionals help active adults build stronger, more resilient bodies so they can Live More. Hurt Less.

If chronic pain is holding you back—or you simply want to build a body that can keep up with the life you want to live—we may be able to help.

Send us a DM. Let's start the conversation.

Most people don't think about muscle until they're losing what it was protecting:

Your ability to hike, play with your grandkids, stay independent, and keep up.

Muscle mass goes way beyond just looking good. Your muscle tissue releases compounds that protect against cognitive decline and repair your brain as you age.

More muscle = more of those compounds.

Less muscle = less protection.

This isn't about looking strong. It's about staying sharp, capable, and in control of your life for as long as possible.

Build the body that keeps everything else running

This is how we Live More and Hurt Less!

Five months ago, Frédéric came to us with big dreams:

-more strength

-more power

-so he could crush the competition in cycling and half marathons.

Plus, he set his sites on the Senior Olympics next year.

But hip pain and a temperamental hamstring stood in the way.

We performed a thorough assessment and a mapped out a solid plan.

And now, he's pain-free, riding faster, and running stronger with less effort!

“Stretch now… regret later 😅

That tight back? It's not necessarily asking for length. It could be asking for stablilty and trust. Stretching tricks your muscles into giving a few minutes of relief — then tightness comes back like clockwork.

The real win? Downregulate the nervous system. Strengthen and coordinate the right muscles.

I’m stupid.

For years, that’s what I told myself. It's what I believed in my core.

Because I had facts to back it up. I had to work harder than my peers to keep up in class. It took me 8 years to get through college. I dropped out of Finite Mathematics 101 because I was failing.

Numbers, spreadsheets, or financials. I hated all of it. Owning and running a business? That was *never* going to happen.

Fast forward to March 2023…

I was at the Possibilities Conference in Columbia, Maryland. Sitting at a round table near the front, listening to a speaker share how she overcame a difficult family situation.

And then it hit me: "Buy the gym." (Referring to the gym where I was currently a client and had transformed my health. The owner wanted to sell it to me, but I had been saying no for 2 years.)

My brain recoiled and screamed, "No! You’re too stupid for this. Other people can do that."

But the conference… it didn't just pump me up. It taught me to question my self-doubt and ask new questions. And that’s exactly what I did.

I started small:

* Asked the gym owner for three years of financial records
* Called a family member to help figure out the gym’s value
* Talked to my husband about finances

The “I’m too stupid” mentality slowly shifted to: “How can I make this happen?”

I did the thing that terrified me—and with each step, my confidence grew. I’m still not a mathematician. But I now have the tools to run a business, navigate challenges, and no longer let self-doubt limit my options.

Then I leveled up the gym from "general strength training" to specializing to helping people create a path out of chronic pain. The mission is deeper and the impact is profound!

I’m a completely different person than I was sitting in that conference room. And it all started because I *showed up*.

Possibilities Conference 2026 is coming up on March 14th.

If you want to stop letting self-doubt hold you back… if you want clarity, confidence, and a real plan to move forward… this is the place to be.

And now I'm proud to be one of the presenters! Join me and get started on real change.
