It is about to get loopy here in South Carolina this weekend!!!

Where will you be?

Got to spend the weekend with .endurance.nutritionist and .ultras. I was able to witness their 1st official race as both a runner and a volunteer. If anyone is a stranger to who she is, then I have a feeling you'll have plenty of time to get to know what she has to bring to not only the Lowcountry, but the state of South Carolina as well! It was a great success!!! Not only was she able to capture that feel of previous Hellholes by keeping the original course and telling nature to let loose, but she was able to add her own touches to it in the awards and overall atmosphere. It was great to hear feedback and witness the grit from both runners of past Francis Marion events and first-timers. The consensus was that they're excited to see what's in store with the next one!

So, cheers on a job well done by both staff amd runners! Now rest up and prep for the next one!

Looking to get your Backyard Style Ultra fix, but can't travel too far???

Well, this one just popped up in our backyard and will taking place this March!

I might have to stop by myself and see what it is all about. We shall see if that weekend remains free for me.

Hope everyone had fantastic holidays!!! With New Year's on the horizon and it being another Thursday, it is time for another South Carolina RD calendar spotlight!

This week happens to be headed up by co-creator and former president of our wonderful club, !!!

If you're in need of a good introduction to the world of trail and ultra running, that just happens to be super affordable, then look no further! If running a race still has you overwhelmed, then volunteer for one of the events. They give out volunteer perks as well and will leave you with less and less excuses to not run one of their races one day.

I might be a little biased as he heads up one of my favorite races, The Country Mile, but the vibe that his crew has at the races is one of the best.

If you want to push yourself to run the hardest you've ever run, he'll support you. If you want to just run a lap or two and just hang out at camp, he'll support you there as well.

2024 is right around the corner!!!

Have you already started or have you already finished planning out your race calendar?

Need to fill any gaps in said calendar?

Over the next few Thursdays, I'll be sharing the race calendars of our amazing Race Directors.

That way, it'll both give me time to finish up the calendar spreadsheet as well as a 2024 "challenge" that should yield a fun little prize should you complete it.

With that said, I give you the 2024 race calendar for .ultras !!! If some of these races look familiar, then it is because our very own took over as RD starting 2024. These will be her first races she's heading up. So please be sure to go out and support her, be it through volunteering, running, or both! She's offering some volunteer perks. So you could earn 50%-100% off your future races just by lending a hand.

You'll probably spot me out there at H3 Frozen if you happen to be there. So be sure to say hello!!!

That is one of the biggest benefits of being a part of the ultra community, finding those strong bonds in people you probably never would have had otherwise. Before you know it, you are playing kickball together, showing morale support at a funeral, or even attending their wedding. There is a reason why you feel so comfortable telling your life to someone you just met over 6+ hours... That common connection of suffering will get you through more than just a finish line at a race.

That is one of the goals of this club... To not only bring RD's, running clubs, and individuals within South Carolina closer together but to spread that wealth to others and show that there is more to ultras than just running!!!

It identifies the 3 regions (Upstate, Midlands, and Lowcountry) of our great state without giving away what each region has in store for you. We have wonderful race directors all over. My hope is you get the opportunity to try a race from each one because their specialties hit all the categories you're looking for. If you can't find what you're looking for, then that means it is currently in the works.
Finally... if you're looking for a bunch of runners to have fun logging miles with, then our bunch is for you! We'll cheer you through to the end with or without that kick in the ass all while having good meals and drinks on the side. Our trails may not be numerous, but they are sure to provide you with memorable stories for years to come!
