With the academic year to a close now we continue to raise the bar when it comes to our studies! The spring semester is always hard with lots of traveling and late nights however we crushed the semester in the classroom.

3.65 team Semester GPA!! 4 members with 4.0 semester GPAs! Hard work on the lanes and in the classroom becoming better people everyday!

Graduation has come and gone! Congratulations to our 2 graduates of the bowling program. Senior Sammie Malley and Graduate Assistant Thomas Esterhuyse(here’s a photo from Celebration of Excellence since I missed getting one with him).

Thank you both for your amazing work over the years! This program is forever grateful for you!

Always start and end the year with a team dinner! Never a dull moment with this group and so thankful to them for choosing CC! They have made this year a memorable one both on and off the lanes and couldn’t be happier to have had this group! Everyone played a part in making this special all year!

Thank you for a fun year!

Last night we had the opportunity to get dressed up and join all of CC athletics for the annual Celebration of Excellence banquet! It was great seeing everyone all dressed up and honor what has been a great year.

We had 4 ladies either be nominated or win an award last night. Abi Owen won the Bowling CC Standard Award. Calleigh Beyer won the Strength and Conditioning Award. Audrey Pense was nominated for top female freshman of the year. Kiana Hodges was nominated for Female Breakout Performer and Female Athlete of the Year.

Wrapping up our season is always tough. It’s even more so when you graduate seniors.

This year we graduate our senior Sammie Malley. 4 years ago her and her family traveled in snow to visit a program with a coach who was still learning what to even do. She believed in me and they put their trust in me and ultimately she helped build what has been accomplished this season. She was the first person to believe in the dream and goals that I saw for this program and the first recruit we were able to sign. The four years that followed have been more memorable than either of us could have imagined.
Without her buy in through 4 years we wouldn’t have been able to accomplish what we have accomplished and she set the tone for years to come. Sammie came to Columbia with lots of raw talent and little knowledge of what to expect. Since then, she has turned into a player that could be counted on consistently and growing her game from her freshman year to the very end.
It wasn’t always her bowling skills that helped define the program but the off the lane stuff that everyone doesn’t get to see is what makes Sammie special to me and this program. I have so many stories to tell and couldn’t fit them all in here!
On a personal level she has impacted me in many ways. Someone who could match my competitiveness and someone who was loyal even through tough times.
Thank you for choosing Columbia College, thank you for helping build a program and thank you for being there!
Thank you Sammie for everything!

I said we’d have more posts coming and here’s the first one to our graduating GA and the absolute best person to the assistant on this team! Thomas has done so much in such a short amount of time to help be a part of the success we’ve had. From day one without much bowling knowledge prior he was eager to learn and wanted to help in any way he could. His loyalty and relationship building with the team was unmatched and made all of us better because of it.
I can’t thank him enough for being there the last two years and amazed at how fast they’ve flown by. We are so grateful you chose to be with us when you could’ve easily done many other things!

Thank you Thomas!!

2025-2026 season has concluded and what a year it was!! We have so much to breakdown from the year as a whole and we’ll do that at another time.
Sectionals in Tennessee was one for the books! Got to experience Nashville as a group then take to the lanes for 3 days full of bowling. As we entered the team portion of the weekend we put together one of, if not the best baker performances in program history. 64 baker games is a tall task and yet we did it at a high rate to place 9th in our sectional! Averaging 184.5 for the entire tournament is something to be very proud of! So much to really say about this weekend but we can let the scores tell the story.
This marks the best finish in program history at sectional and we eclipsed our best 3 single baker scores ever! More to add to what was already a record book season.
We graduate one amazing senior(who will have a separate post on later) and our awesome GA(who will also have a post on later) who have helped change the course of this program and the direction we are heading in the future.

Thank you to all of our supporters for being on the ride with us this year! It has been super memorable and we couldn’t have done it without you all!

Now today we close out with 32 more baker games! It’s always a grind but we’ve responded well and excited to get back out today!
