Last year, this fiddle leaf fig was dying.
It wasn’t thriving in its environment, and I knew that if something didn’t change, I was going to lose it.
So I changed its environment.
It began receiving different nutrients. More sunlight. More humidity. More of what it needed to grow.
Now, a year later...
It’s thriving.
Growing.
Expanding.
If I hadn’t made that change a year ago, it wouldn’t be where it is today.
Was moving it inconvenient?
Yes.
Was it messy?
Yes.
Was it worth it?
Absolutely.
That temporary discomfort changed its entire trajectory.
And maybe this fiddle leaf fig isn’t so different from us.
Sometimes we stay in environments, routines, or patterns that we know aren’t helping us, simply because change feels uncomfortable.
But one decision can change our trajectory.
One shift in our environment can change how we show up.
One intentional change can create the conditions for growth.
Did I know moving this plant would be the reason it thrived?
No.
What I did know was that the environment it was in wasn’t working.
So I was willing to try something different.
And that willingness changed everything.
Maybe that’s where growth begins.
Not with certainty.
But with the courage to make a change when you know your current environment is no longer helping you thrive.
And maybe, at the end of the day, we’re not so different from this plant.
