The Columbia School District is excited to announce the hiring of Jordan Cleland as the new Head Softball Coach at Columbia High School.

"On behalf of the Columbia School District, I want to thank Coach Madison Nations for her outstanding leadership and devotion to Columbia High School softball this year. Her impact on our student-athletes has been significant. I am excited to introduce Jordan Cleland as our new head softball coach. With her energy, experience, and deep understanding of the game, she is well-equipped to build on our program's success and navigate our team to new heights. Please join me in welcoming Coach Cleland to the Wildcat family!" said Superintendent Dr. Jason Harris.

Coach Cleland brings an impressive softball background and a true passion for the game to Columbia High School. A 2017 graduate of Columbia Academy, she continued her playing career at Southwest Mississippi Community College before moving on to play at LSU Alexandria. She later completed her collegiate career at the University of Southern Mississippi, earning a degree in Kinesiology while also serving as an assistant softball coach at Southwest MCC.

She went on to earn her Master of Arts in Education and gained coaching experience as an assistant at West Marion. After taking time to focus on her family, she now returns to the field with a wealth of knowledge and love for the game. Coach Cleland is married to Wiley Cleland, and together they have two children, Walker (2) and Stella Grace (1).

"My family and I are excited to join Wildcat Nation. Having the opportunity to coach in my hometown is truly special. I'm ready to get to work with the Lady Wildcats—building a competitive, disciplined, and united program that represents our school the right way every single day. I am grateful for the opportunity and the trust placed in me—now it's time to get to work. ," said Coach Jordan Cleland

On behalf of our Athletic Department, we want to welcome her to Columbia High School and look forward to the impact she will make on our student-athletes.

She is a true student of the game, highly respected throughout the coaching community, and a relationship-driven coach who will make a lasting difference for our girls. Her energy is contagious, and we can't wait to see the positive influence she will bring to our program," Chip Bilderback, Athletic Director of the Columbia School District.

With her guidance, the future of Columbia High School Softball is full of excitement and promise.
