As part of our Negro Leagues Celebration, we are celebrating Benedict College own Chino Smith. During his four-year career in the Negro Leagues, he posted a batting average of .408 and was the second African American to hit a home run at Yankee Stadium. Thank you to the Out of the Shadows Project for donating this painting of Chino to the Columbia Fireflies.

As well, thank you to the Josh Gibson Foundation and their traveling exhibit for joining us at today's game. Fans in attendance can visit the museum located on the concourse.
