GREETINGS COLD STEEL FRIENDS AND FAMILY!! We have been VERY busy as training has been long days and nights for many days! Your SITs are doing well - and have started Basic Rifle Marksmanship, and medical training. Your SITs will be doing this for the next week and a half, with Rifle Qualification next week. So keep the letters to your SITs positive and encouraging! Remind them to Study and prepare themselves.

Also - we have received many inquires about pictures. We would like to remind you that pictures are a privilege, and we do take them when we can. With that being said, Cold Steel is known for our FB Page, and we take pride in the number of photos we have been able to produce historically. Unfortunately, recently the camera that is primarily used for photos - was stolen, and with it were several hundred photos each from Land Navigation, Day Zero, Victory Tower, and More. Please be patient and understanding, as we try to get back into the swing of things with an operable camera. Until then - we will do the best we can, WHEN WE CAN.

SITs conducting first Foot March this morning. How many miles do you walk / run for exercise a week?!

Greetings all Cold Steel Family and Friends!! On behalf of the Company Commander and First Sergeant; Welcome to Foxtrot Company – the finest training Company in the 1st Battalion 34th Infantry Regiment. This new group of Soldiers received a WARM COLD STEEL welcome just over a week ago on the 4th, and since their initial arrival here - we have been pushing your soldiers for long and hard hours preparing them for both the demands of BCT (Basic Combat Training) and future operations in the Operating Force. This page will be updated with training updates and photos as time permits. This page is run by volunteers and unit cadre - so we must ask that you be both patient and grateful as this page IS a PRIVILAGE, and understand that training is our #1 priority, and NOT Facebook. We also ask that you please read all the notes, as important information can be found there, to include the “ABOUT” section for our FaceBook Page rules and guidelines. By now you should have received initial contact from your SITs (Soldiers in Training). If not, do not worry – mail is slow both to and from Fort Jackson, in some cases you can expect up to 2weeks for mail to be delivered, more notes about mail will come in the near future.

Over the past week your soldiers completed Unit In-Processing, and have received classes on Army Values, Wear and Appearance of the Uniform, Drill and Ceremony, Weapons Safety, Equal Opportunity, The Army’s Sexual Harassment and Assault Response Program (SHARP), Radio Operations, Warrior Ethos, Chain of Command and much more! Your SITs also completed Victory Tower, G*T, Team Development Course and Fit To Win (FTW)! Congratulations to the Soldiers of 1st Platoon – “Outlaws” for winning the first streamer awarded in BCT during the Fit To Win Course, 1st Platoon’s “Super Squad” demonstrated strength, teamwork, and true embodiment of the Warrior Ethos by successfully completing the Obstacle Course with the fastest time, beating out the other platoons – who also competed very well, and never gave up.
