your chapter to participate in our philanthropy benefiting Huntsman Cancer Center, an organization that raises money for cancer research. This year we are extremely excited to finally be able to put this series of events together to help those who have been affected by cancer. Banner: Banners will be hung on the Greek houses and designated areas for the length of the week. Banners should include date of Derby Days, beneficiaries, and sponsors. We will send an email prior to the 21st of April with the list of beneficiaries and sponsors. Banners must be up no later than 5:00 PM on Sunday, April 28th. Auction Night: Each participating organization will bid to buy a brother of Sigma Chi on Monday, April 29th. Once you have purchased your brother, you will take him with you and begin practicing for the Derby Days skit competition that will be held Thursday, May 2nd at Sigma Chi. The brother you purchase has no say in what he wears and what he must do throughout the skit. All money will go to our beneficiaries. Skit Night: Each organization will create a skit/dance of at least 5 minutes in length and perform it in front of the brothers of Sigma Chi on Thursday, May 2nd. Each skit will be examined and judged by the brothers. We will be judging off of creativity, how you use your purchased brother, and preparation. Note: There is no set theme to these skits. They are your opportunity to do whatever you want and have some fun. D. Sigmadness: Each organization will submit a team to compete in a sand volleyball tournament that will be held at Sigma Chi on Friday, May 3rd. There is no limit to the number of teams you can submit. You can register a team of 6 participants for 100$ a team due to Hunter Holman by Friday, April 19th at the Sigma Chi House. Your entrance fee into the tournament will include a Sigma Chi Sigmadness tank top for each of the participants. Once all teams are submitted, our chapter’s twitter account @SigmaChiXiXi will be live tweeting the bracket to see who will be playing who in the tournament. Each match will be to 21 (win by 2) and the championship match will be best 2 out of 3. The tournament will begin at 3:00 PM. FUNDRAISING

1. Dinner: On Tuesday and Wednesday of the week, eat at one of our sponsoring restaurants and 20% of your bill will go towards our beneficiaries. A list of the restaurants will be emailed to each chapter soon.

2. Apparel Sales: Derby Days t-shirts will be available for each chapter to purchase. Points will be awarded based on the amount of each shirt sold. Apparel orders are due along with payment on Friday, April 19th. T-shirts will cost 17$ each. BREAKDOWN:
Bronze Level (1-49 t-shirts) = 60 points
Silver Level (50-99 t-shirts) = 70 points
Gold Level (100-150 t-shirts) = 90 points

**Throughout the Week: Throughout the week, members of the Sigma Chi fraternity will be wearing Sigma Chi Derby Days hats to and from class all around campus. If you see a brother wearing one of these hats, stealing the hat off his head will result in additional points for your chapter. Once you have the hat, it is yours to keep. On Friday, May 3rd, return to Sigma Chi at any time with a bag of the hats and have them counted by one of the brothers. He will record your number of hats and turn that number in for points. DERBY DAYS QUEEN
Each house will nominate 1 candidate for Derby Day’s Queen. This candidate will be asked to post a brief video submission onto our Derby Days page by Tuesday, April 30 at 8:00 pm. Number of “likes” will be influential in the decision process and brothers will vote on the winner and the new queen will be announced Friday May 3. The house with the winning candidate will receive 50 points.
