We’re opening our last practice of 2023 up to all L3 skaters near and far! Gotham coaches will be running one hour of skillz & drillz followed by one hour of scrimmage 💪

This week, we’re saying goodbye to Crash Pad, our practice space for the past 10 years. 
When the COVID-19 pandemic struck and New York City became the epicenter this spring, we immediately stopped our in-person programming. Now, given the lack of clarity around when we’ll be able to resume again, we have made the difficult but fiscally responsible decision not to renew our lease or sign a new lease on a space at this time.
In the nearly two decades since our league’s founding, this is not the first time we’ve been without a dedicated space. The spirit of Gotham, our love of our community and for the sport of roller derby will always transcend physical location. 
To address our needs during this time, our league leadership has developed a three-phase strategic plan through which we will emerge stronger, financially stable, and a more connected community. In the immediate term, we will continue to offer digital and Twitch programming. With our newly created Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee, we will continue to use this time to address diversity and inclusion issues in our league and community.

With Gotham's home team season opener days away, the health and safety of our league members, volunteers, and fans are of the utmost priority. Gotham is closely monitoring the Coronavirus situation in New York City and we are committed to following CDC, NYC DOH, and other city and state agency guidelines.

At this time, Saturday’s game is moving forward as scheduled at John Jay College. However, we will continue to evaluate the situation and are implementing stricter hygiene measures, including the limiting of skin-to-skin contact outside of game play and increased availability of sanitizing products at the venue.

We will update our social media accounts and other communication channels as we continue to monitor the situation, communicate with the venue, and follow the guidelines set forth by the above agencies.
