✨ Control ✨ most aerial injuries come from tripping over mats, it’s true, but also from hanging properly and thinking that passive flexibility translates to the air. That’s why .flops teaches flexibility a little differently at CAF. We are all about strengthening the stabilizing muscles to improve your controllable and recoverable range of motion. That way the fabric, rope, or bar doesn’t force you into your max range of motion that you can’t safely hold or get out of. Many of us have hyper mobility so we knee strengthening in those ranges is far more useful than forcing yourself passive flexibility! Don’t worry, you’ll still get your splits but you’ll be able to control your splits to make it functional for aerial and pole. Flexibility is every Sunday at 1:30!

Meet Kiersten.

When she moved to South Carolina, she already had about a year of aerial experience. She joined Columbia Aerial Fitness as a student looking to continue progressing, and today she’s one of our instructors.

One of the biggest misconceptions about aerial is that progress comes from simply trying harder. Hard work matters, but eventually everyone reaches a point where effort alone isn’t enough.

That’s where coaching matters.

At Columbia Aerial Fitness, our goal isn’t just to teach tricks. We help students understand the mechanics of movement, adapt skills to their unique bodies, and provide the specific feedback that unlocks skills they thought were impossible.

Our motto is “You’re More Capable Than You Know” for a reason.

Whether you’re taking your first aerial class or looking for a place that will push you beyond the plateau you’ve hit in your training, we’re here to help you level up.

Because ceilings are often just a sign that it’s time for a new coaching philosophy. 💜

Even though trapeze is one of the most recognizable aerial apparatuses, many studios and students focus on fabrics like silks and sling. So we wanted to show you what you might expect in our Trapeze level 1 class with As you can see in the videos, you can sit on it just like a swing. Most of your first classes will start learning skills from this position. We have many different heights to make skills more accessible or more challenging, depending on your needs! Then we grow from there! Join us Tuesdays at 6pm for Trapeze Level 1!

Join us every Wednesday at 6:30 for our beginner Lyra class! This class is specifically designed for beginners! No experience is necessary AND we have no weight limits. Come see what you can do 💪🏻
