Team members have to be constantly reminded that being accountable for something does not mean you have to do all the work. It means utilizing the proper resources in an effective & efficient way to get the specific work & result accomplished.
While a BHAG doesn’t need to be highly specific, it does need to show a clear endgame. This is vital for creating clarity about where the “bus” is going to end up. It guides the team to make good decisions each day—decisions that are aligned with the BHAG.
It's Strategic Planning Season. Remember your plan of action for next year should funnel down through the company to the very last employee. Develop 3 to 5 priorities for every employee. Every person in the company should have one or two priorities that are aligned with the department and company priorities for the quarter.
The Executive who carefully designs their daily routine goes further than the person who negotiates with themselves every day. Let inertia work for you and your day.
