The CDC released new findings from the National Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Survey (NISVS) 2023/2024 Sexual Violence Data Brief, the first update since 2016/2017.
The data show that sexual violence remains common across genders and settings, including workplaces, public spaces, and online. For the first time, the survey also includes data on technology-facilitated sexual violence.
Sexual violence is a serious public health issue, and it is preventable. During Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) this April, we will continue sharing what this data means and how prevention efforts can support safer communities.
