Welcome to June, everyone! 🚗💨

We officially survived Murph. Now we get to do something that involves MUCH less running.

June’s theme is Gas Pedal — which means high power, short efforts, and workouts designed to make you go fast. Like, actually fast. Not “I’m moving and I haven’t stopped” fast. Full send fast.

We’ll be doing a lot of interval work this month, which means there IS built-in rest. Yes, on purpose. No, you don’t need to fill it with burpees. The rest IS the workout. Trust the process.

Our benchmarks this month are the 1-minute max-calorie bike (simple, brutal, over quickly) and Fran (thrusters + pull-ups, classic CrossFit chaos). These are two great tests of what you’ve got.

Also — heads up from us personally: June is a busy month for Nikki and me outside the gym. We’ll have some days where we’re not around, and we’ve got some great guest coaches coming in to cover. They’re wonderful. Be your normal awesome selves, maybe learn their names before you ask them for movement modifications, and give them a little grace while they learn yours. 😄

We’re grateful for every single one of you. Now let’s hit the gas. 💪

“She showed up for all of us. Now we show up for her.”

This weekend, the Warrior Axe family came together for the Autaum Morant Memorial Workout — and y’all did NOT disappoint.

Because of YOU, we raised enough to fund TWO scholarships in Autaum’s name. Two people in this community will train, grow, and chase their fitness because of what we built here together on Saturday.

Autaum was a fixture in the Columbia fitness community for years. She poured into people. She showed up. She made this city better. And she left us way too soon at 41.

This is how we honor her. Every. Single. Year. 💙

Thank you to every athlete who showed up, every person who donated, and everyone who kept her name alive.

Autaum Morant. Forever in this community. Forever in this gym.

🪖 Honored. Humbled. Ready to serve.
Today, Warrior Axe CrossFit opened our doors to the U.S. Air Force Recruiting Service — and it was one of those days that reminds us exactly WHY we built this place.
Our facility was used to help train and assess future Air Force Special Warfare candidates. These are the next generation of warriors — and we were proud to be part of their journey.
This is what community partnership looks like. This is what carrying the torch means.

Most injuries don’t happen because someone is weak.

They happen because they lost control of their position.

That’s a balance problem.

Balance is your ability to control your body’s position — moving or still. Without it, strength breaks down, power leaks, and simple movements become dangerous.

In CrossFit we train it constantly:

→ Single-leg movements
→ Overhead lifts
→ Dynamic barbell work
→ Any time you’re stabilizing weight while moving

And here’s the long game — balance is one of the biggest predictors of independence as you age.

Train it now. Keep it longer.

🇺🇸 Memorial Day from Warrior Axe CrossFit 🇺🇸

This weekend we pause — not just to work out, but to remember. We remember the men and women who gave everything so that we could have everything. Their sacrifice wasn’t a moment — it was a final decision made out of love for this country and the people in it.

As a veteran and law enforcement-owned gym, this day hits different for us. We don’t take lightly what it cost. We carry it with us. 🪖🖤

If you’ve never done The Murph, there is no better day than Monday to experience it for the first time. It will challenge you, humble you, and connect you to something bigger than any WOD ever could.

Join us Monday morning at 8:00 AM and do it in honor of the ones who never made it home. All fitness levels welcome — scaled options available. Come as you are. Just come.
