Welcome, Coach Paquette

South Carolina Men’s Rugby Club is honored to announce Jason Paquette as our new Head Coach!

Coach Paquette brings 15 years of coaching experience with the Charlotte Tigers, where he built one of the Southeast’s premier youth rugby programs. During his tenure, he led the Tigers to 11 North Carolina State Championships, five National Championship appearances, and numerous state and national titles across both 15s and 7s rugby.

Beyond team success, Coach Paquette has proven commitment to player development. His athletes have gone on to represent the United States at the senior international level, as well as compete in USA Rugby’s U18, U20, and U23 programs. He has also developed collegiate All-Americans and professional caliber athletes.

With 14 years of playing experience as a loose forward, Coach Paquette brings a deep understanding of the game and a strong commitment to helping players reach their full potential. His coaching philosophy centers on accountability, hard work, excellence, and building a positive team culture through strong relationships.

As a devoted husband, and father of three, Coach Paquette has a strong foundation rooted in family and the belief that the people around you are as important as the results you achieve. Those values will carry into his role at South Carolina as he works to not only better our players, but build an even stronger team and community.

We are excited to welcome Coach Paquette to Columbia and look forward to the next chapter of C**k Rugby.

With more nationally recognized academic student-athletes than any other collegiate rugby program in the country, South Carolina Rugby continues to set the standard for excellence both on the field and in the classroom.
