Crystal Dragon Family Martial Arts Center Teaching confidence through self-defense in Columbiana, OH. Martial arts is more than just learning self-defense.

It teaches respect, independence, and builds confidence in every student that steps foot onto the mat. At our school, we focus on creating a safe and family-friendly environment for men, women, and children where they can learn a traditional, self-defense oriented martial art. Our founder, Douglas Nybell, started teaching in 1978 out of his home and eventually grew into a commercial space in 2000. As an eighth-degree black belt and retired mental health counselor, he focuses on challenging students to continue to grow their skills and knowledge. Since opening our doors, we have stayed true to our name by creating a family with our students. Please allow us to help you become a champion in martial arts, as well as in life.

The Columbiana Street Fair begins today. The Crystal Dragon treats this time of year like our own start of the "school year." So to prepare, some students came and helped out to get the mats and the dojo looking all clean and shiny. A big thank you to the students and parents that came and helped. It was a big task and the Sensei are thankful for all the hard work you all put in.
