Positive Athlete Announces Stars & Strikes “Gamer Award”
Winners for 2026 School Year

ATLANTA, GA (May 22, 2026) – Stars & Strikes, in partnership with Positive Athlete Georgia, proudly announces the recipients of the 2026 Stars & Strikes “Gamer Award” Scholarships. Two exceptional student-athletes have been awarded $1,000 college scholarships who show up when people in their school or community are in need.

Scholarship Recipients
The Stars & Strikes “Gamer Award” Scholarships for the 2025-26 academic year have been awarded to:

Sydney Riepe Blessed Trinity Catholic High School
Jariell Rivera Kendrick High School

These individuals were selected from over 4,500 nominations representing more than 415 public and private high schools across Georgia.

Recognition Ceremony
The scholarship recipients will be formally recognized at the 2026 Georgia Positive Athlete Awards Ceremony on Monday, June 1, 2026 at the Georgia State Capitol. This event will celebrate all state sport winners and recipients of partner scholarships, with $41,000 in total scholarships being awarded.

Tonight at 7 PM, your Columbus Lions face off against the Mississippi Wolfpack! While we're ready for a battle on the turf, tonight is also about celebrating ALL the amazing educators and school staff in our community.

To the teachers, administrators, and support staff: thank you for your tireless dedication to shaping the future of our kids!

We also want to give a special shoutout to our very own Lions players and coaches, and staff who are dual-threat heroes. From principals and deans to special education teachers and athletic trainers, we are incredibly proud of the passion you bring to the classroom and our schools by day and the Lions Den by night.
