GET TO KNOW YOUR EQUIPMENT 101 ✨
TINY BUT MIGHTY! NEXT UP: THE EXO CHAIR.
Seriously! Don’t let its compact size fool you. The Exo Chair may take up less space than a Reformer, but it brings a whole new level of challenge to your Pilates practice.
Designed to challenge strength, stability, balance, and control, the Chair is a powerful tool in the Pilates method. Its spring resistance and small working surface encourage you to connect with your body, engage your core, and move with intention. From seated exercises to standing work and full body movements, the possibilities are endless!
And because Pilates is about so much more than just the movement, understanding your equipment can help you feel more confident every time you step into the studio.
Let’s break down the basics. Keep swiping ➡️

Depending on the setup, changing the springs can make a movement more supportive or more challenging. More resistance doesn’t automatically mean a harder exercise, and lighter doesn’t necessarily mean easier. It all depends on the movement and the control required!
THE PEDAL
This is where the magic happens! The split pedal or single pedal moves against spring resistance as you press down or control its return. You’ll use it for exercises targeting the legs, arms, and core while building strength, coordination, and stability. The goal isn’t simply to push the pedal down. It’s to control the movement in both directions!
THE FRAME
The frame is the sturdy structure that supports the Chair and provides the foundation for your practice. It keeps everything in place while you work against the spring resistance. Its compact design also allows for exercises in multiple positions, challenging your balance, coordination, and
