About Us
The Junior Prowlers is a 14U, USA sanctioned ice hockey club based in Pickerington, Ohio. Founded in 2020, the team is the first-ever Pickerington-based hockey organization. The Junior Prowlers are sponsored by Center Ice Foundation of Central Ohio, an organization dedicated to expanding access to ice related sports, through the construction of an ice rink in Pickerington. Although the team functions as a development team for the Prowler Hockey Association, the team is comprised of players from throughout Central Ohio.
The Prowler Hockey Association (PHA) was established in 1998 as a mixed high school hockey team, sanctioned by USA Hockey. The organization is comprised of players from multiple school districts: Amanda Clearcreek, Bloom Carroll, Canal Wi******er, Groveport Madison, Hamilton, Liberty Union-Thurston, Logan Elm, Pickerington, South-Western, and Teays Valley. PHA competes in the Ohio Scholastic Hockey League (OHSL), whose member teams are Athens, Columbus Ice Hockey Club, Dayton, Hilliard, Newark, Northeast Storm, PHA, and Westerville.
The Junior Prowlers are Head Coached by Christopher Watts, a Pickerington native and veteran USA Hockey Certified Coach. Skills training is provided by Plain City-based Battery Hockey Academy.
