I go to a farmers market once a week. I’ve done this for years. Every summer I check out both familiar and new markets, meet local vendors & farmers, and proudly support them!

I always feel like I leave markets with good deals from a cost perspective, 90% healthy & organic, and overall spend the morning outside putting my mood in a good peaceful spot.

So here’s yesterday’s market I got to go to during my work break. It was actually my first time at UA market and what a successful trip it was!

My takeaways:
• there are plenty of farmers so there’s no reason to not get your produce from them!! I got potatoes, green beans & oyster shrooms from 3 different vendors. The fun thing about shopping at markets is you know everything is in-season. So even if not noted “organic” (which most are anyways), there’s less pesticide usage when growing conditions are optimal.
• fresh flowers just brighten up the space! It’s one of my favorite things to get at markets.
• fresh bread is another one. Breads are actually simple with ingredients but when store bought you see there’s so many additives in them. Getting bread freshly made from local vendors is way healthier and easier on the gut!
• fun foods, like these bagels 😋 i saw a lemon shakeup stand too which reminded me of my childhood so enjoying the small treats at markets are such a welcomed part of the experience!

I’ll share more weekly markets & finds with you all and how I incorporate them to make healthier meals :)

Have you been to UA farmers market?! What’s your fav vendor/farmer?

Still my favorite supplement company ✨

After so many years of being a trainer, has been a constant in my routine as well as help my clients achieve their goals.

Legion is like your one-stop-shop for supplements. It’s always high quality with them & I never have to question if their dosing is enough for me to see a difference.

They have it all:
• protein powders (whey, casein, vegan & egg)
• protein bars (the only one I’ve ever found with good fiber content)
• creatine (drink & gummies)
• pre workout (stim & non-stim)
• fat burners that actually help
• and my new fav electrolytes
… not to mention about every vitamin you could need as an athlete.

My code “FITFEARLESS” helps save on EVERY order at along with supporting my partnership with them!

All foods fit 🍽️

But i always use the guide to build your plate:
• protein first
• healthy fats next
• fill with fiber
• include micronutrients

It’s so easy and leaves you feeling full & satisfied. This way of building your plate encourages real Whole Foods and less processed, high sugar & trans fat foods.

Yep… 6 days straight 🫡

I love working out on vacation because I finally have time to lift & run without having to work around my work/obligations! My husband and I take turns watching the babies as we spend 30-60 minutes each day on ourselves, moving & feeling good.

Things that made working out on vacation easier:
✨ scheduling with my partner the night before. we decided who would go first and what time we’d leave-be home, making sure both of us could fit something in.
✨ getting a week long membership to the local gym! I could stick to my strength training routine and had fun using new equipment.
✨ packing accordingly. Since i live my life in workout clothes this wasn’t a problem BUT a lot of my clients don’t pack enough clothes or the right clothes. Prioritize this and that’s half the battle!
✨ enjoy movement that’s not a “workout”. We fully intended to take beach walks (over running) bc it’s one of my favorite ways to exercise, it’s low impact, and i can see more of the world. It didn’t workout for us this time (twins in the 90 degree heat= bad idea) but is an excellent way to exercise without feeling like you are!

What’s your workout plan on vacation? Do you stick to your routine or take a recovery week? Both fit and no wrong answers 🙃

Weight loss tells me nothing about how your body has changed. If you really want to lose weight, just chop off an arm! That’ll be the fastest way… see what I did there 😉 you’re probably still going to be unhappy with the way your body looks and how you feel throughout the day.

But FAT loss? Now that’s something to lift up 💪🏽 we lose fat by building a body that is composed of MORE muscle. You do this by lifting weights, eating protein, and recovering. It’s way harder than just “weight loss”.

But the outcomes of building muscle are everything you want:
•better fitting clothes
•more energy
•more confidence
• stronger physically
• and increased longevity

Weight loss can’t give you those things. But building muscle can.

The more muscle you have = the less fat your body is composed of.

So stop with the scale goals - that’s the easy way out. If you really want results, start building a body you’re proud of 💪🏽✨

130 grams of protein a day is super easy over here because I’ve been doing this for 10 years 🤣 so here’s some EASY tricks to add more protein into those meals:

🦴 bone broth rice: yep, this is an easy way to add 10 grams of protein to your meal! makes fun flavors with options like beef or chicken

🥚 add egg: egg by itself isn’t super high in protein but when combined with a beef or chicken dish, can add that edge to get you to at least 30-40 grams. I love adding egg to Asian stirfry or pasta!

🥄 find sides that have extra protein: quinoa instead or rice adds extra protein even if it’s primarily a carb!

🥢 when ordering out… double the protein. It normally costs a bit extra but will be worth it when you are tempted to get carby sides, but are too full!

Functional strength workout 🏋🏽‍♀️

Really love training like this 💪🏽 one, for my running performance. I love using exercises that are dynamic, multi-planar and use multiple muscles to increase my performance.

Here’s my workout:
• tick-tock lunges, to work on driving my legs through the hip joint with weight and working on the joints around it(knees, ankles, hips). So good for runners!

• single arm squat & press - uses lower & upper body power + unilateral strength. Can do with a dumbbell, but i prefer kettlebell to feel more real-life like

• Russian twists - if doing them properly you should feel NOTHING in your hip flexors. Thats why i prefer feet down, i can focus on rotating through my torso and the engagement of my obliques

• renegade rows - love these less for back strength, more for wrist and core strength. I’ve taken some falls while running and building my wrist strength is so important to me for healing and prevention of breaking with future falls!
