March Reads Recap
As the pages turned and the stories unfolded, March gifted me with a profound journey through the realms of resilience and peak performance. Here's a glimpse into the literary adventures that enriched my mind and soul:
"Do Hard Things" by Steve Magness: Unveiling the science-backed secrets to true resilience, this book shattered conventional notions and ignited a fire within me to embrace challenges head-on. Steve Magness eloquently guides readers through a transformative exploration of overcoming adversity, empowering us to not just survive but to thrive amidst life's storms. Each page was a reminder that our greatest growth often arises from our toughest trials. (Recommended by and yes, I listened to the audiobook too.)
"Complete Conditioning for Football" by Aaron Wellman: From the gridiron to the gym, this comprehensive guide by Aaron Wellman serves as a beacon for optimizing performance and fitness tailored specifically for football players. With meticulous detail and expert insights, it dives into the intricacies of physical conditioning, mental fortitude, and strategic training methods essential for success on the field. Last, but not least, is the strength metrics! Are we getting stronger? absolutely! 3 school records were broken this quarter alone!
Shoutout to Ian Bowling and Braylee Castillo for breaking their own the records! Shoutout to Braden Satterwhite for breaking the old boy's bench record by 0.12!
03/14/2024
We continue to show improvement with our increased jump heights and distances! These categories are another key touch point for me when assessing my program. It shows that we are not only getting faster and stronger but we are able to use both traits to generate power in different planes of motion.

Speed testing is a vital part of my programming audit. I want to know we are getting faster and becoming more prepared for the demands of sport. Everyone wants to play faster but can they capitalize on it?
Big shoutout to Nick Smith for breaking the Boy's Pro Agility record with a 4.24 in only his first quarter in class!

Congratulations to these 12 students for pushing their limits to strive for this personal achievement! They are the first group to achieve this honor. These standards will continue to change and morph as we improve our testing data. Each student must earn their place every quarter!
