The Northside Venom have been on a heater, smashing hits left and right so far this fall. They’ve outhit some quality opponents 23 to 5 and this past weekend was more of the same.

The Northside Venom took the field today with revenge on their minds against a Triple Crown Royals team that knocked them out of a tournament earlier this spring. But this day it was all Venom as the boys outhit the Royals 10 to 2 and walked away with a dominant 13-1 win. Facing only 20 hitters on the day, the Venom hurlers mowed down 11, including a stretch that saw 7 of 9 batters retired on strikes.

In three games so far this fall, the Venom have played 16 innings and given up only 5 hits while striking out 23.

Offensive MVP- Two was the magic number for Lennon Sharps, who went 2 for 2 at the plate, driving in 2 runs and scoring twice himself. He also caught an inning that saw 2 strikeouts!

Defensive MVP- Brady Cochran started on the mound and was nearly untouchable. The Venom ace went 3 innings and allowed only 1 hit while striking out 6 of the 11 hitters he faced and tossing 60% strikes.

🚨NO HITTER 🚨

Will Wiselogel, Lennon Sharps, and Jax Tiemeier combined for a 6-inning no-hitter against the Big Walnut Eagles, capping off a doubleheader sweep. The boys outhit the Eagles 11-3 over two games and dominated every facet of the second game, leaving with the 6-3 win.

Offensive MVP- Taran Meador drove in two with some clutch hitting and led by example with his baserunning.

Defensive MVP- Will Wiselogel got the start and was perfect through 3, facing the minimum and tossing 67% strikes.

The Venom boys opened up the fall ball season with a road trip to visit a talented Big Walnut Eagles squad. On the back of some dominant pitching (5 IP, 6 K, 3 H, 0 ER) and a crafty small ball approach to the game, the team took the W, 16-5.

Offensive MVP- Gabe Walker was perfect at the plate and scored twice. He also perfectly executed a key bunt-and-run that ultimately secured the game, scoring a runner from second base on the play.

Defensive MVP- Hudson Ross was a brick wall. With the pitchers throwing from 60’ for the first time, there were plenty of opportunities for passed balls. Ross prevented a number of runs, including a play at the plate that snuffed out a rally in the first inning.

With 3 dominant games on Sunday, the Venom boys left it all on the field for the last time in tournament play this season. It was a strong finish for the squad and they walked away with some more hardware to add to the collection.

Game 1

Offensive MVP- Will Wiselogel went 3 for 3 and collected 3 RBI to add to his team lead.

Defensive MVP- Lennon Sharps tossed a complete game and struck out two of every three hitters he faced on the day to earn the W.

Game 2

Offensive MVP- Jax Tiemeier launched a 290-foot nuke over the left field fence to extend the lead to 10 and shut down any hope of a comeback.

Defensive MVP- Brady Cochran capped off a stellar season on the mound by going the distance and allowing only 1 earned run. His 7th win of the season set a new record for wins in any season for any Venom pitcher.

Game 3

Offensive MVP- Taran Meador went off with 4 RBI, 2 runs scored, and 2 stolen bases. He’s been on a tear since his return from injury just 12 games ago.

Defensive MVP- Colin Job got the start and the win, his 6th of the season, in dominating fashion.

After suffering an L against the Dublin Green Sox and their outstanding ace on Wednesday, the Venom hosted the Sox in a return trip on Thursday with everything on the line. After a 7-inning slugfest against a very tough team, we came out on top in dramatic fashion to earn the W and another trip to the jewelry store to cap off our COYBL season.

Offensive MVP- Brayden Calloway led the way on offense, going 2 for 3 with 3 RBI and 2 runs scored, while also stealing 3 crucial bases on an outstanding catcher.

Defensive MVP- Donovan Greggor, a future Dublin Coffman Shamrock playing against his hometown team, called game with the tying run at the plate in the last inning. When you make a diving catch on a liner at 2B and turn the double play to end the contest, you get the honors.
