First Match Point Table Tennis clinic with Chance Friend went great. Good turnout of 15 players during three 2.5 hour sessions. We’ll be doing these on a regular basis once Chance starts coaching full time at Match Point. Next clinic is February 21.

Now that Spin & Smash is closed and shifting operations to the new Match Point Table Tennis Club in Gahanna (www.matchpointpickleballclub.com), I’ve had some time to reflect on people who helped make Spin & Smash a success during its time as a club.
One of those people is Jay Nelson. Jay never stopped promoting Spin & Smash, playing a role as coach, umpire, advisor, player and cheerleader. More than that he’s been a faithful friend. He always brought players with him - Zach Smith, who has spent more on entry fees than any other player in Spin & Smash’s history, Andrew Gooding and many more. Thank you Jay!
Spin & Smash is still temporarily closed due to problems with the building’s occupancy permit.
All table tennis classes, coaching, open play, leagues, etc. in this building are canceled for this week.

The Spin & Smash junior invitational tournament took place yesterday with 18 players in two events - singles and doubles. Congrats to all the participants. Marissa Lauria won the singles event and the team of Majd Kallash and Yusf Elhabyan won doubles.
