Hunted some incredible habitat up in northern Michigan this weekend . Makes the heart warm to see places where the wild turkey still thrives.

The in-between season Spring time Blues has us thinking about this a little extra this week. Had a few scratch hunts last season with low quantity harvest but some high quality birds.

Highly anticipating turkey season and some spring thunder in the woods!

Had to slam down on the honkers one more time last weekend before the season went out!Another incredible year is in the books and the total came out to 731 birds 14 bands and many hunts we will talk about forever.
Gotta thank god for giving us the ability to do what we live for!

September can’t come soon enough…

The Great Ambush- this was a pretty wicked hunt! Had a feed of about 300 honkers inside a 50X100 yard cattle pen and they had ripped it up so much only about 1 inch of snow remained on the ground which left no natural cover for burying layouts with snow covers. The birds broke early and we watched them locking low just feet above a parallel fence row. Decided to ditch the blinds and go hide down in the ditch and we had group after group of geese feet down at 20 yards in the trap. One we will not soon forget. Grateful all the stars aligned on this hunt!

Might have to sort through a bunch of birds throughout a season, but all it takes is that one family group to hit the Jackpot! The Cold weather repositioned this group to where we needed them to be and the rest is history.

The snow and sun sure makes those Ankle bracelets stick out nicely! Especially when the geese come in neck out landing gear down.

Still grinding away at them here in Ohio and picked off a moose goose. Just a few more days and we will be missing it!

Day 60 has finally came and pulling the trigger for the last time to finish out a 5 man was quite bittersweet. It was one of those days this morning where you are covered up with birds like they are mosquitoes.

With only a handful of weekends left to hunt left here in Ohio, it’s time to put the petal to the metal! It will be missed when it’s gone.
