Lexington Future Baseball

Hard fought tournament this past weekend especially when the spark plug and true-heart of our team, Jeremiah Lowe (JLo), breaks his left forearm doing what does best on defense tracing down shots to center field during the semi-final game. Shook him, his family, and the team something fierce and was a reminder of what's really important - Family!!! Great to see him and his family after the tournament with a new cast and in good spirits considering!!! Blessings for a strong and quick recovery JLo!!!!!!

Decided to play up (13U) this time around and our 12U Lexington Future stepped up BIG time!!! The Future took down the 13AA Bedford Stars, 13AAA Indiana Astros Orange (who won the 13AAA Indiana State Tournament this year!!!) during pool play on Sat. to earn a 4th seed in this 13U tournament of 10 teams --- only one 12U team. :-) Then we beat the 13Major Indiana Prospects - Beidl team during the 1st game of the tournament (so sweet)!!!!! But, we lost in the semi-finals to a VERY hard hitting 13Major MCBC Hit Dogs Krstich team from Detroit, MI, who went on to win the tournament over the 13Major Ironmen. Many of these 13U players were almost a foot taller and 50+ lbs bigger than most of our players, but our scrappy Little Future Fockers took on the challenge in sweltering heat and played a great tournament!!! Proud of these guys!!!!!!!

Instead of batting practice, how about a Wednesday trip after work to Daniel Boone National Forest, a little hike, and Miguels Pizza for a little team building!!! :-)

Made it to the championship game but lost to the Clark County Legends. Congrats to Jackson Wasik for his first dinger and RJ Parks for another HR and incredible play!

Won some quality games this tournament, but lost in the semi-finals to a solid Owensboro Bombers Team, who went on to win the tournament. Big tyne congrats to RJ Parks for his first grand slam home run, a HR in the Ironmen Prime game too, several doubles including a game winner against Ironmen Prime to get us to the semi-finals, great pitching and catching. One heck of a tournament!!!
