Tomorrow is the Day!!! These swimmers will get to leave it ALL in the pool at NSAA State Swimming 2026!!! We could not be prouder of each and every one of you!!! The Discoverers had a pretty good weekend at Conference this weekend!! We added to our secondary qualifiers with Erinn Briggs earning her secondary time in the 100 Breast and the girls 200 Free Relay earned a secondary time as well!!! Congrats Discoverers!!!

Our final Senior spotlight….

Taylor Alexander is the daughter of Susan and Doug Alexander and has been a member of the CHS Swim and Dive Team for the past 2 years. In addition to Swim Team Taylor is Also a member of the CHS Tennis Team, Discoverer Marching Band a Member of the Tri-M Music Honor Society, Lifeguard at the YMCA and an Asst. Coach for the Y Swim Team. Following graduation Taylor Plans to attend UNL and major in Anthropology. Her Favorite memory of Swim team when Jaylyn jumped into the pool to cooldown during the 400 boys relay. Taylor is thankful to all her friends on the team who make her laugh all the time.

Sydney Miller is the daughter of Nathan and Tiffany Miller and has been a member of the CHS Swim and Dive Team for the past 2 years. In addition to Swim and Dive Sydney is also involved in Destination Imagination, Skills USA, Robotics, CHS Winter Guard and is a member of Tri-M Music Honor Society. Following graduation Sydney plans to Attend the Florida Institute of Technology and study Aerospace Engineering. Her favorite Swim memory is Sledding behind Kyle’s Parent’s restaurant after a team meal. Sydney is thankful for the amazing community swim team has given her during high school.

Next up Senior Dive Captain Kaitlyn Janicek…

Senior Dive Captain Kaitlyn Janicek is the daughter of Coach Terry and Jessica Janicek and has been a member of the CHS Swim and Dive Team for all 4 years of High School. In Addition to Swim and Dive Team Kaitlyn is also involved with Educators rising, CHS Musicals & Plays, YMCA swim team, 4-H, 1st Grade PRE teacher, Babysitting, and Working at the Aquatic Center. Following Graduation Kaitlyn plans to Attend Wayne State College Majoring in Elementary Education with a Minor in Theater. Her Favorite memory of the swim team is Kyle using the Massage gun on Martin on the bus ride home and all the laughter and tears with the team over the past 4 years. I will Miss you all. Kaitlyn would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all her teammates for making every moment in and out of the water so memorable. Your encouragement, friendship, and unwavering support have meant the world to me, and I am grateful for all the laughter and challenges we’ve shared together. A special and enormous thank you goes to my coach, who is also my father. Your belief in me, your guidance, and your constant encouragement have shaped not only the athlete I’ve become, but the person I am today. You’ve given me the tools to persevere, inspired me to work harder, and shown me the power of dedication and love. I am so proud and grateful to have you as both my coach and my dad. Thank you for always being there for me, in and out of the water.

Next up Senior Captain Erinn Briggs!!

Senior Captain Erinn Briggs is the daughter of Corey and Nancy Briggs. Erinn has been a member of CHS Swim and Dive for the past 3 years. In addition to Swim and Dive Errin is involved in Track and Field and was the 2025 state champion in the Discus Thow. She is involved with Impact Youth Group, Lifeguards at the YMCA and was a member of the 2025 CHS State Swim Team. Following Graduation Erinn Plans to Attend Minnesota State University, Mankato as a track and field athlete and she is currently undecided on what she would like to study but might try Graphic Design. Her Favorite Swim memory is Jaelyn, a past senior, jumping into the pool at a home meet to cool down while a race was going on and getting yelled at by the crowd. Erinn is thankful for her parents for always being so encouraging even when she was upset about literally anything, and for her friends for pushing her and being fun to be around. She is thankful to her coaches for being motivating.

With Conference week upon us it is time to recognize our 2026 Seniors!!! We start today with one of our Senior Captains….

Senior Captain, Greta Roberts is the Child of Eryn and Adam Roberts and has been a member of the CHS Swim and Dive Team for all 4 years of High School. In addition to Swim and Dive Team Greta is also involved with Discoverer Marching and Concert Bands and was Drum Major for the 2025 Marching Season. Has been a member of the Nebraska All-State Honor Band and is a Member of the Tri-M Music Honor Society. Following Graduation Greta plans to attend UNO majoring in Trumpet Performance. Her Favorite memory of swim team is singing and playing Roblox on the way home from meets. Greta is thankful for her current and past teammates.
