Have you heard about Starting New At Golf (SNAG Golf)? It’s where we introduce students to golf in a fun way by learning how to putt, chip and hit golf balls that attach to Velcro targets. This summer, the SNAG Golf Community Center Program visited 18 of Columbus Recreation and Parks Department's community centers, as well as KIPP and East High School, to introduce a total of 807 youth to golf! We want to give a shout-out to Al Sallee, who headed up the program, with help from some part-time staff and AJRP interns. We are excited to introduce the next generation to golf!

June is National Women’s Golf Month! Kelly Trent, golf pro at Raymond Memorial Golf Course, started the Kelly Trent Camp in 1984, and it is still going strong. She is running six golf camps throughout the summer with 600 students total, and a third of them are girls, which is great! Kelly also hosts two golf leagues during the summer with 155 kids ages 4-16 participating. We are excited to be able to introduce this many youth to the game of golf!
