Saluki Men's Golf

‼ 𝐀𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐧𝐲 𝐃𝐞 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐮𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫: 𝟏 𝐨𝐟 𝟏𝟓𝟎 ‼

The Saluki senior is just the 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐝 𝐒𝐈𝐔 𝐦𝐞𝐧'𝐬 𝐠𝐨𝐥𝐟𝐞𝐫 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 named to the NCAA Division I PING All-Region Team. Only 150 golfers in the country received the honor this season.

Saluki alum Anthony De Schutter doing this thing on the DP World Tour this week! Anthony currently sits T-24th after 3 rounds! He’s showing the professional world what we’ve seen the last 2 years from him. Go get it in the final round!

Senior spotlight for the and this time it’s Anthony De Schutter. Not sure if enough space to talk about this guy so we can sum it up as saying he leaves SIU as one of the best to ever do it. His 70.92 scoring average this year is 2nd best all-time. He leaves with a 71.38 career scoring average, which makes him the best in school history. He leaves with 21 career rounds in the 60’s, good enough for 2nd all-time. He won 3 times, tying him for 2nd all-time. He won Player of the Year in the MVC this year after receiving Newcomer of the Year last year. Beyond thankful he chose to become a Saluki and in this day and age, even more blessed he decided to return for his final season. We will be following along watching you in your next step.

Another senior spotlight for the . This time we have Jaeseung Na, who only transferred in here with one year of eligibility but he left a lasting impact. Jae finished with a 72.52 scoring average, good enough to be in the Top 10 all-time at SIU. He had 6, Top 25 finishes and 13 rounds of par or better. While his time as a Dawg was short, he made the most of it!

Ben Keil fires a final round 67 (-5) to win the Fort Wayne Hall of Fame Championship by 1! Great way to get the summer started!!

Another senior spotlight for the . This time on Blake Saffell, who joined us for his final year of eligibility and it was a great one. Blake finished the year with a 72.67, which is good for 11th all-time single season scoring average in school history. He also recorded 19 rounds of par or better and finished in the Top 25 in 3 events. While his time as a Saluki might have been short, he left a lasting mark while here! Forever grateful he chose to be a Saluki!

Senior spotlight on Luke Lasley. A huge thank you for being a part of our program the last 2 years! You truly embodied what it means to be a Saluki both on and off the course. Luke played in 38 rounds over the last 2 years and ended with a 74.66 career scoring average. His best career finish came this spring at the Racer Intercollegiate where he finished 8th overall. He was also named to the MVC Scholar-Athlete Team this season. We know you are going to be successful in whatever you choose to do! Once a Saluki, always a Saluki! 🐾

Very special group here! Tough to believe the season and academic year are over but still very proud of what we accomplished this season. We know our seniors are going to crush it in whatever is next for them. For all of us coming back, we are going to strive to be even better! Go Dawgs!

US Open Local Qualifying ✅

Luke advanced through local qualifying yesterday, finishing T-2 at Illini Country Club in Springfield, IL! He played great in tough windy conditions. It was a six hour round, but he grinded out an awesome finish.

Next up is the Final Qualifying on June 8th — 36 holes from the US Open! 🇺🇸
