Most restarts don’t happen on Mondays. 💭

They happen on Fridays - when progress feels slow, motivation is low, and you start wondering if your effort is even making a difference. 🫠

And today is Friday. 💪🏻
Maybe today is your day to commit to the restart.✨

Not by pushing harder.
Not by being perfect.
But by deciding to keep showing up.

That’s what Stronger Every Rep is all about, building strength through consistency, one workout, one choice, one rep at a time. 🏋🏽

📅 12 weeks
💪🏻 2 strength sessions a week
✨ Starting September 1

You don’t have to do it perfectly.
You just have to start…and stay with it.

I started my day with a few awesome women working hard and getting stronger 💪🏻💕, then came home to pretty pink flowers & the sweetest photo collage Jordyn made for me in honor of my 8-year Cancerversary!!💐🎉💗

And from one meaningful moment right into another, it was time to take Logan to her first day of 7th grade… somehow, that wasn’t any easier than last year. 🥹 As I was dropping her off, I reminded her that her name will be changed on the roster this year and told her how incredibly proud her mom and Grandpa would be knowing she’s carrying their last name with her. 🤍

With all of that, and my new favorite song playing, I really am saying HALLELUJAH today.🙌🏼

Through the joy and the tears, God is good. 🙏🏻

💗 This memory popped up today, and it’s hard to believe how much has grown from one little idea.

📰8 years ago, I came across an article about a rowing program for breast cancer survivors in Chicago that Jenn Gibbons was running. Something about it stuck with me, and I had the crazy idea: “Why couldn’t we bring something like this to Omaha?” So I reached out to Creighton Women’s Rowing with the idea, having absolutely no idea where it might lead.

🚣‍♀️ I’m so grateful Joy Dobrauc & Creighton were willing to say yes, embrace the idea, and help turn it into something real. What started as a thought became one of the most meaningful experiences of my life.

🌅Over the years & numerous sunrises, this program has brought so many breast cancer survivors together, not only to move and become stronger, but to laugh, connect, encourage one another, and experience what it means to be stronger together.

🙏🏻Looking back, I truly believe God placed that article in front of me and the idea on my heart. I certainly couldn’t have imagined what would come from simply reaching out and asking, “What if we did this here?”

💙 I’m incredibly grateful to Creighton, the rowing team members who gave & still give their time and shared their knowledge, Jenn for providing that initial inspiration, and every woman who has climbed into a boat and been part of this community. So many people took one idea and made it far greater than anything I could have created on my own.

✨ Of all the things I’ve had the opportunity to be part of in the fitness and wellness world, this will always hold a very special place in my heart.

Sometimes you just have to listen to that little nudge, take the first step, and see where God takes it. 💗

💙 I’m excited to share that I’ll be presenting at the MedFit Global Virtual Conference this September!

🎤 My session is: Coaching Through Change: Training Strategies for Life’s Toughest Transitions

💪🏼This topic means a lot to me, not only as a fitness professional and Cancer Exercise Specialist, but because of my own experiences navigating breast cancer and some of life’s more difficult seasons.

🌿 Our clients don’t train in ideal conditions. They train through real life: cancer recovery, menopause, injury, stress, grief, caregiving, and major life changes.

🤍My session will focus on how we can adjust the training to meet the person where they are, while helping them stay strong, capable, and connected to movement.

✨ I’m really looking forward to sharing this one!

🎟️ If you’d like to attend, MedFit is offering a great discount: Use code MEDFIT to register for $99 (regularly $149).
⏰ The discount ends Thursday, August 13!
💙 I’d love to have you join me!

Lifting weights does more than make you stronger.

New research suggests that consistent resistance training may actually improve your muscles’ ability to handle stress, repair damage, and recover more efficiently.

After six weeks of strength training, participants’ muscles showed less damage and a smaller stress response to the same workout. But after just three weeks without resistance training, some of those positive adaptations began to fade.

Another reminder that strength training isn’t only about how your body looks, or even how much you can lift.

It’s about building a body that is more resilient, capable, and prepared for the demands of life.

And you don’t have to train every day. Even two consistent strength sessions each week can make a difference.

And you can get exactly that starting September 1st with Stronger Every Rep, my 12-week strength program that meets twice a week and gives you the structure, accountability, and consistency to keep showing up and getting stronger. 💪🏼🤎

You don’t need perfection.
You need consistency.

Keep showing up. Keep lifting. Keep getting stronger every rep.

One of the questions I hear most is...

“Were you able to exercise during treatment?”

The answer is yes, but it looked very different from day to day.

Some days I did a spin class.
Some days I lifted weights.
Some days I walked.
And some days, simply getting out of bed was enough.

Going through breast cancer taught me that movement isn’t about perfection or pushing through at all costs. It’s about meeting your body where it is and recognizing what it’s capable of that day.

Even on the hardest days, movement gave me a way to feel a little more like myself and reminded me that my body was still capable.

That lesson changed not only my life, but also the way I coach today.

💗 All movement counts.

This fall, I’ll be launching Strong Through Every Stage, a small group strength training program created specifically for women affected by breast cancer.
As both a breast cancer survivor and Cancer Exercise Specialist, my goal is to provide a supportive place where women can safely build strength, confidence, and trust in their bodies…wherever they are in their journey.

Message me with questions or for more details. 💗

Yesterday, our family became official. 🤍

After over eight years of loving, raising, cheering for, and walking alongside these four incredible kids, we officially adopted them.

The truth is...they’ve been our children in our hearts for a long time. Yesterday didn’t change the love. It simply put paperwork behind what has already been true for years.

As grateful as I am, my heart also carries an incredible amount of sadness.
This wasn’t the way any of us imagined their story.

Jami loved these kids beyond words. She was a wonderful woman, and I miss her every single day. I find myself wishing we were raising our families side by side, birthday parties, taking vacations together, celebrating milestones, laughing over the chaos of parenting, and continuing to support each other the way sisters do.
That future isn’t an option, and there will always be a part of my heart that grieves it.

So today, I’m holding both joy and sorrow.
Joy that these four amazing kids officially share our last name and our future.
And sorrow that they don’t get to grow up with the mom who loved them first, but we will keep loving them with everything we have. We’ll tell Jami’s stories, honor her memory, and make sure they always know how deeply they were loved by her.

Family isn’t only created by biology or paperwork. It’s built through love, sacrifice, showing up every single day, and choosing each other…over and over again.

Yesterday, the paperwork caught up with what our hearts have known for years. Our hearts and home are very full!🤍

Huge shout out to my dear friend Leigh Officer for her love and support!
& NEBRASKA & TRAVEL PHOTOGRAPHER for capturing these beautiful photos!🤎

Some of my favorite pictures, taken in one of my favorite places…hiking in the Black Hills.

I felt strong, healthy, and completely in my element.

Little did I know that just a few weeks after this photo was taken in June 2017, my massage therapist would discover a lump on the outer side of my breast, and my life would change forever.

Suddenly, my calendar filled with appointments instead of plans. Words like biopsy, chemotherapy, and surgery became part of my everyday vocabulary. There were moments of fear, uncertainty, and wondering what my life would look like.

But there was one thing I refused to give up...

Movement.

Some days that meant lifting weights. Some days it meant taking a walk. And some days, just showing up was enough.

Movement became more than exercise, it became my medicine for both my body and my mind.

If there’s one thing cancer taught me, it’s that strength isn’t about never struggling. It’s about choosing to keep moving forward, one step at a time.

That journey eventually led me to become a Cancer Exercise Specialist, not because I read about breast cancer in a textbook, but because I lived it.

Today, my passion is helping other women discover they are stronger than they think. Whether you’re newly diagnosed, in treatment, recovering, or years into survivorship, you don’t have to rebuild your strength alone.

This fall, I’ll be launching Strong Through Every Stage, a small-group strength training program created specifically for women affected by breast cancer.

Over the next several weeks, I’ll be sharing more of my story, what I learned along the way, and why I believe movement can be one of the most powerful tools for healing.

If my story resonates with you, or with someone you love, I hope you’ll follow along. My prayer is that every woman facing breast cancer knows she doesn’t have to navigate this journey alone.

Because it’s never too late to become strong again. 💗
