The Cruisers coat of arms wasn’t created just to look good on a jersey. Every piece tells part of the story of who this club was built to represent.

Our colors. A symbol carried together by everyone who has worn the crest.

⬛ THE BLACK
Described in the original coat of arms as “our unknown spirit’s lair.” The part of a club that’s harder to put into words—the fight, loyalty, grit and connection you understand once you’ve been part of it.

For generations, people have come through Columbus and Fort Benning, stepped onto the pitch, worn this crest and eventually continued on to wherever life took them next.

The names change. The players change.

The crest remains.

Over the next few weeks, we’re going Behind the Crest to tell the story of each piece—and what those values still mean to Columbus Rugby today.

Columbus Rugby Club is recruiting new AND experienced players from across Columbus, Phenix City, Fort Benning, and the surrounding area.

Never played rugby? Perfect. We’ll teach you.
Played football, soccer, wrestling, lacrosse, or another sport? Come see how your skills translate.
Played rugby before? We definitely want you.
Haven’t competed in years? Dust off the cleats. 😂

You don’t have to know anyone.
You don’t have to be “in rugby shape.”
You don’t have to commit to anything.

Just come to practice.

Played at your last duty station? Come out.
Played in college or with another club? We want you.
Haven’t played in a few years? Time to dust off the cleats.
Never played before? We’ll teach you.

Big, small, fast, strong, experienced, brand new — there’s a spot for you.

And to our Fort Benning military community 🇺🇸 — if you just PCS’d here and left your old club behind, come find your new one. Active duty, veterans, military spouses, and Columbus locals are all welcome.

Come for a practice. Meet the team. Run around, hit somebody legally for once 😂, and see what Columbus Rugby is about.
