When we started this ride in 2018 it wasn’t 100% clear the direction things were going to take. We learned new skills, weathered the storm of a pandemic, opened and closed a retail store, met and worked with some amazing people, and always with the same goal “To Make Cool Sh*t”.

The one thing I didn’t expect was the direction purchasing an embroidery machine would take me. I am a hat guy and hats have always been a good seller ever since we started out doing markets.

In 2021 before The Shop opened I made the crazy decision to buy an embroidery machine so I could decorate our own brand hats. What I didn’t realize at the time was the amount of people that needed the same thing.

Slowly the custom embroidery business built through word of mouth and we eventually split it off to another brand called

Running one business with stretched resources is hard enough let alone trying to run two. Over the past two years designing bags has become more of a hobby so I have made the decision to shutdown the website for Scioto Made effective Sept 21st

As of now this IG page will still be around and will become a creative outlet for the random s**t I make from time to time. And also food pics. So if you don’t want to see those things feel free to unfollow. It’s understandable.

Leaving the safety of the corporate world and starting a business has certainly had its ups and downs. Sleepless nights. Stress over bills. Always second guessing.

But I wouldn’t trade it for any thing. It has given me the opportunity to do things and meet people I never would have imagined I would meet.

is one of those people. Like most I watched him growing up, learned to fish from his videos, and was inspired by the way he lived. Hell the video about his life from was a key driver in why I left the corporate world.

It has been a huge honor to be a part of bringing his ideas to life. There was only one Flip and he will be missed.
