HISTORY OF THE GUILD
The first Urban League Guild was established in 1942 by Mrs. In 1968, the council established Regional Guild Conferences.
Mollie Moon to help raise revenue for the National Urban League, presenting considerable funds to the Urban League on an annual basis. Her untiring efforts generated interest throughout the Urban League movement and prompted other affiliates to organize guilds to help raise money in their own local areas. This afternoon, on the heels of yesterday's decision to not indict the NYPD officer in the chokehold death of Eric Garner, African American leaders convened to discuss next steps in the fight for justice for Garner, Brown, and other victims of police misconduct. Included in the next steps is the National March Against Police Violence on Dec. 13, 2014 in Washington D.C.
