We’re all dealt a deck of cards in life—some hands stronger than others. But the key is simple: play YOUR hand.

Stop worrying about what others have. Keep pulling from the deck, building your winning hand. Not every card is meant to stay—so let go of what doesn’t serve you. Some cards are meant to be exchanged, so don’t be afraid to release them for something better.

With patience, discipline, and smart moves, you can WIN. No more excuses. We all have the same 24 hours—how you play them is what matters.

Take inspiration from Lucas, a paratriathlete at the OPTC. He’s been playing his hand since birth—and still shows up to swim 🏊‍♂️, run 🏃‍♂️, and bike 🚴‍♂️.

So ask yourself: What are you doing with your 24 hours? 💯

Before competition, some athletes feel like they need to get pumped up with music filled with vulgar and foul language. I’ve never quite understood how we preach one thing to our kids and athletes—discipline, respect, and character—but then allow influences that contradict those same values.

Then you have athletes like Lauryn Elmore.

As Team Captain, Lauryn chooses a different path. Before competition, she prays without ceasing 🙏. She fills her mind with spiritual and devotional music. At such a young age, she leads by example—proving that you don’t have to follow the crowd to succeed.

She steps into the ring with what’s in her heart ❤️ and lets her work speak for itself. Humble, focused, and disciplined—Lauryn is the definition of a true athlete and leader.
