August has been a busy one for the Hurricanes! 🌀🏊‍♂️

We’re officially back in the pool and kicking off the 2026–27 Short Course Season! We’ve loved welcoming so many new swimmers and families to the Hurricane crew—and we’re just getting started.

Last weekend, we traded a little pool time for some Back to the Pool fun! Basketball 🏀, pool 🎱, snacks 🍿 and plenty of questionable land-sport skills 😆 Turns out our swimmers may be better in the water…and we’re totally okay with that.

Great teammates, lots of laughs, hard work in the pool, and even more fun outside of it. This is what being a Hurricane is all about. 🌀💙

📣 Starting TODAY, the Hurricanes are back in the pool for the start of short course season. If you have an interest in exploring competitive swimming, open evaluations are happening today at the Columbus Aquatics Club!

Last weekend at the 2026 Georgia Senior LC State Championships, our Senior State swimmers absolutely showed up, and they did it against a stacked field. Our Hurricanes held their own against elite competition across 4 days of intense competition.

We ended the weekend with a grand total of:

🌀 6 Top 20 Finishes
🌀 4 Top 10 Finishes

Age Group LC State 11-12 Boys High Point Winner!
Nathan had a stand out weekend, taking first place in EVERY breaststroke distance! He had 7 total individual podium finishes, set multiple team records and achieved several AAAA motivational times!

WAY TO GO NATHAN!

🚨🔥TEAM RECORD ALERT🔥🚨
Boys 11-12 400m Free Relay team shaved 3.26 seconds from their time in the GA Age Group Long Course State Championships to re-set their year-old team record and secure an overall 3rd place finish!

Way to go Tate Petrancosta, Nathan So, Isaac Herbek, and Nikhil Duggineni!
