Ive also neglected to post progress pics from the result of my adhd hyper fixation with rocks, so with out further ado ; my flint knapping.
This is late into my second year of knapping, though I've had an interest far longer than I coukd imagine. Even before making longbows (almost 35 years in bow making!!!) I had interest in stone tools.
The down side is i did not k ow anything. Had no teachers, materials, or internet to figure it out. As a kid, id watch some knappers and ask questions. Some were great knappers, just not good teachers, or just close lipped.
February 2025 I was laid up after having cubital tunnel surgery (they cut yiur elbow open and release pressure on the nerve that was strangled, so everything works "normal", and I gotnthe 2-for-1 special with tennis elbow surgery, trimming up some tendons or something). Boooooooriiiiiiiiing.
Anyways, had lots of couch time. Spent it on a deep dive with videos and books. First time in had a long break from the bow shop.
Also found out im highly addicted to knapping, collecting rock, and everything between.
Being12 degrees of a**l rentative in the detail department, I wanted to go much further with my knapping and work on some cool pieces.
The works below, are some of this journey, im beginning.
Still making longbows, still tanning, still willow weaving (coming soon to a bowskin.com near you), just adding another straw on the camels back.
Now time for another espresso, and ibuprofen.
Enjoy!

Always something. Right before our two-week show, too. Right now, im bouncing around from sculpting Galadhrim longbow orders, sanding longbows and atlatls, making tent components, assembling flint knapping kits,, finishing more flint knives, packing orders, and somewhere in the mix I need to pack for pennsic.

Take care folks.
As pennsicwar comes closer, we are in a scramble to get all of our projects (domestic, and abroad) done. Sometimes, things just happen though...

Shipping Oops!
It appears that the last round of shipments through US Postal Service did NOT scan the long packages that were picked up from us this week. This is not normal and should have been done by the carrier before they left the premises, or after they dropped off to the facilities. 3 phonecalls in, and im still assured they have been recieved and shipped out tontheir destinations.
Its frustrating, because on our end it looks like they were never received and that the label was just created. What's the point of having a system where you can track a package (we pay for that) if the package doesnt get scanned? Our frustrations are compounded more as customers are awaiting their packages and when they search the tracking numbers, it shows they are still here.
When asking the USPS, what i should do, since they dropped the ball. And I am taking the brunt of my customer frustrations, I get this: "just tell them to call us, and we can verify that it was received, and shipped" .
Folks, it doesnt work like that. I probably wont be ablento file a claim on these either since they were not scanned.
To my very patient and understanding customers:
I am doing what I can to make this better. Im duplicating the missing orders to ship out again. Im not sure if i will have time to get them mailed out before pennsic war, as my plate is already over full, but I will do the best I can.
If you have anymore questions, email is always the best way to reach me: [email protected]
Thanks again.
Stay calm, stay indoors today, the aqi is crazy here.
Best,
Joshua
