Big bug slurpers. .

All the hard work was worth it. Stuck some big pigs of the brown trout type…. Some were landed some were not. I love to fish flies that look like the real deal.

Getting close to be my favorite time of year. Time to spin up some big bugs and wait

Mountain stream browns and brookies

It’s been to long off the river. Felt great putting up big numbers on a tough condition day. 16 made it to the net.

The night time stare never gets old. With all the rain its nice to connect when it counts. Another nice fatty hen and a few high teenagers. 😆

She was chunky. No doubt if this was a buck it would have been a 2footer instead of 23. Very healthy fish. And I was happy she was willing to take the fly in the early hours as you can see in my face. 😆

When you put two first time night anglers on their very first nighttime dry fly fish two years apart. (2022&2024) and they both land the same brown trout. it’s nice to see catch and release work for these prime wild species of brown trout. Just because you catch the fish, it only makes him yours for a moments time. He belong to the river not to any individual.

Spanish on the fly is a good time.

Pushing limits to land these beautiful fish night after night is worth every minute of sleepless nights with only naps predawn to do it all over again.
