It’s been awhile! Welcome back to “Muscle Monday”! Understanding how different muscles effect your horses performance is such a crucial part of owning horses. I am here to help you as the owner, help your horses succeed!

The medial gluteal is one of the horse’s major muscles for hip extension and powerful movement of the hindquarters. It helps propel the horse forward, especially during activities like barrel racing, jumping, and collected work. When this muscle becomes tight or fatigued, it can affect hind-end power, stride length, and overall movement. Regular assessment and appropriate bodywork can help support healthy muscle function and mobility.

Equine massage and chiropractic care can work hand-in-hand to support your horse’s comfort, mobility, and overall well-being. Massage before chiropractic work may help relax tight muscles and prepare the body for an adjustment, while massage afterward can encourage relaxation and comfortable movement. Massage and chiropractic care are complementary services and should never replace proper veterinary evaluation when something may be wrong. Working together with your veterinarian and other qualified professionals helps give your horse the best care possible. 🐴❤️

Disclaimer* I am NOT an equine chiropractor. Nebraska law states that generally you must be a licensed veterinarian to practice equine chiropractic work
