TALK LESS - ASK MORE

I’ve seen a lot of posts asking for help with (individuals & teams) compliance, effort, attitude, overcoming setbacks and better teamwork.

♥️Many times good hearted coaches & parents want to “talk to the kids” and ask others “What should I do?”

STOP TALKING => START ASKING

What questions can you ask the girl(s) to come up with the “solution to the problem “?

• verbally
• written
• hands on

Personal accountability & responsibility is the only way. And through a variety of learning styles - not just talking.

That’s the Power of the Pencil ✏️ to better brainstorm, process, and problem solve — on their own.

✅ They have to take ownership.

✅ They have to come up with the solution.

✅ They have to Decide => not be “told”.

How can you lead them to create the action plan?

What questions can you ask?

How can you better listen?

COACHES: 💜 It’s not about having all the answers or telling them what to do. It’s about asking the right questions. You are their guide.

We tell girls in sports things like:

“Be more confident.”
“Stop overthinking.”
“Just shake it off.”

But are we actually TEACHING them how?

That’s like handing her a bat for the first time and telling her to hit a home run. 🥎

Mental fitness is a skill 💪

Processing emotions.
Resetting after mistakes.
Handling pressure.
Reframing thoughts.
Building “confidence”.
Learning resilience.

These things don’t magically appear because an athlete is talented…..

They must be practiced — just like physical skills 💪
