Everyone told us to just build another golf app. We told them absolutely not!

The last thing golf needs is another distraction on your phone while you’re trying to putt. We didn’t want an AI tracking our handicap, and we definitely didn’t want a screen dictating our Saturday morning. Golf is the perfect escape—one of the last places left to actually disconnect, enjoy the day, and be present with your crew.

King of Clubs started in our spare bedroom because we wanted to solve a real problem when golfing together. One of us has been golfing their entire life and lived for the energy of a casual money match. The other was a beginner who found traditional stroke play intimidating and punishing.

Right before a round with friends, we frantically printed out a raw paper prototype for a ‘Round Robin’ game to see if it would level the playing field. That single round changed everything. The energy shifted instantly. It wasn’t about boring stroke totals—it was about camaraderie and exciting rounds with some friendly competition.

When people told us to create an app, we went the exact opposite direction: high-quality, tactile, physical scorecards with alternative game rules built right into the card. Old school. Analog. Real.

Going from late-night sketches to seeing our family business in thousands of bags worldwide is surreal. Thank you to everyone who chooses to put their match in writing instead of staring at a screen. Welcome to the Club 👑♣️

We usually play for high stakes. Today, we played for something a lot bigger. 🤝⛳️

It was an honor to be out on the course supporting the Mettle Toledo x United Way charity golf outing. While everyone out there brought their best game and a healthy dose of friendly competition, the real win was the impact being made off the course.

For those who don’t know, United Way of Central Ohio does monumental work right here in our backyard. They are entirely focused on creating equitable opportunities across Columbus by funding vital local programs that provide stable housing, quality education, and economic mobility for families who need it most.

Golf has a unique way of bringing people together for a common goal. Particpating in this golf event dedicated to lifting up our own community was a powerful reminder of how much good can happen when the Columbus community rallies together.

A huge thank you to the Mettler Toledo volunteers for putting on a flawless event, and to everyone who came out, swung hard, and supported a phenomenal cause. Central Ohio is a better place because of you.

I’d rather be golfing.

Happy 250th birthday America. Honestly absolute peak holiday vibrations out there today. Waking up at the crack of dawn just to blast a ball into a woods while wearing a chaotic flag shirt. After the round we’ll get back to the grill, drink something aggressively cold, and burn our eyebrows off lighting fireworks in a driveway.

No ego today, no stressing about the score, just pure patriotism and celebrating independence. Hope you legends are out there locking in the friendly rivalry and bragging rights before the burgers are served. Happy 4th of July!

Trophies gather dust, and golf balls get lost in the woods. But the scorecards we keep with our dads? Those are the real history books.
