Teaching kids how to swim is our passion! Goldfish is much more than a swim school. You feel it the moment you walk in. Something different. Something unexpected.

Goldfish Swim School – Commack is a state-of-the-art swimming facility dedicated to teaching children as young as 4 months old. It’s more than vibrant colors chosen to inspire kids. More than a curriculum crafted to not only teach kids to swim but also to build their character through guided play. More than a shiver-free pool heated to 90 degrees. There’s something more. Something beyond typical. It’s passion. Not just a passion for kids or a passion for swimming…it’s a special passion for changing – even saving – lives by teaching kids to swim and be safer in and around the water. We use our holistic philosophy, The Science of SwimPlay®, to build life skills both in and out of the water using play-based learning in a fun and safe environment. In a class size of no more than 4 children to 1 swim instructor, children master the skills they need to be safer and confident in the water. Beginning as early as 4 months, children progress through a series of perpetual swimming lessons, graduating to higher levels of difficulty as swimming skills are mastered. Goldfish also offers special events like parties, Family Swim, accelerated Jump Start Clinics and our Goldfish Swim Force Team, catered to swimmers who have completed the Goldfish Pro Level. Goldfish Swim School – Commack is proud to help teach the children of the great community of Commack, NY how to swim and be safer in the water. We encourage you to stop by for a tour of our facilities. We guarantee you’ll love it at Goldfish! To learn more, please visit www.goldfishswimschool.com.

They outgrow the tiny sandals. The swimsuits. The impossibly cute cover-ups. (Way too fast, if you ask us. 😉)
But the skills they're building? Those can grow right along with them. 🧡

Every kick, breath, float and pull your little fish works on today is part of becoming a stronger, more independent swimmer tomorrow.

Because learning to swim isn't just about what they can do in this week's lesson. It's about building skills they can continue strengthening through every splash, swim and water-filled adventure ahead. 🌊

That's progress worth sticking with.

"How do I know if my child is making progress in swim lessons?"
Here's the thing: progress doesn't always come with a new level or a ribbon. 👀

Look for the little changes, too:
🌊 Are they more comfortable in the water?
💪 Is a skill looking stronger than it did a few weeks ago?
🏊‍♂️ Are they doing something with less help?
✨ Did they try something they weren't ready to try before?

Those moments add up.
Learning to swim is a progression of skills, and sometimes the best way to see how far your kiddo has come is to look back at where they started.🧡

Wondering what goals your swimmer is working toward? Ask their instructor about the skills they're building now and what comes next!

When the thing they've been working SO hard on finally clicks...😊👏

Maybe it's the float they couldn't quite get. The stroke they've practiced week after week. Swimming farther on their own. Or hearing those magic words: "You're moving up!"🎉

The BIG milestones are worth celebrating, but so are all the little wins it took to get there.
Because progress isn't just about the next level. It's every new skill, stronger stroke, and proud "I DID IT!" along the way.🧡

What swim win had your whole family cheering?

"Should my child take swim lessons year-round?"

We're officially in the "ber" months, and if you're wondering whether it's time to hit pause on swim lessons, here's something to consider: swimming is a skill that gets stronger with consistent practice. 🏊‍♂️

Year-round swim lessons give kiddos regular opportunities to keep practicing the skills they've learned, work toward new ones and continue building confidence and independence in the water.

Because progress doesn't have to end when pool season does. 🍂➡️🐠
Those fall and winter lessons? They're helping your little fish keep working toward the swimmer they'll be next summer, and beyond.🧡

"What if my child is scared of swim lessons?"
If your kiddo clings a little tighter before class, feels unsure about getting in or needs extra time before trying a new skill, you're probably wondering: Should I keep going?

Feeling nervous around something new can take time to work through.
That's why progress doesn't always look like swimming across the pool.

Sometimes progress looks like getting in the water. 💧
Putting their face in for the first time.
Trying the skill they said "no" to last week.
Or getting out of the pool saying, "I did it!" ☺️

Those small wins matter. With consistent opportunities to practice and support from their swim instructor, kiddos can work toward greater comfort and confidence at their own pace. 🧡

What small swim win are you celebrating lately?
