We had YET another meeting this morning. We've decided to apply for conditional use which seems to be the easiest route. We obviously can't meet all of these conditions, so we're hoping that we can discuss changes in those meetings mentioned in the paper we got (picture below).
We refuse to give up until we hear "no"...
and we don't plan on giving up even then. π

Sorry for the late post folks!!
We had the meeting, and this was probably our longest one yet.
Good news: we found out we do have advocates in MC government for our track!
Bad news is, we have MORE steps before getting this approved. We tried to see what loop holes we could use and at this moment, there aren't any. We refuse to give up though. We want this track open for y'all, BADLY. Thanks for keeping up with the updates and keeping patience.
Ideally we'll be running by late August/September.

Trust me when we say we're tired of the back and forth, too.
We attended and spoke at the Madison County BOC meeting last night. Our plan was if they wanted to cooperate, we would too. They did, so now we will.
The race for July 4th has been once again postponed in the name of trying to be able to hand out money prizes, which takes legalization.
We're sorry for those who were really ready for this, but that was our plan from the get-go: if they wanted to work with us, we'd work with them. Our next meeting is July 7, we'll keep y'all updated on what gets said.
Thanks so much for your patience with us. We're having to have a good bit of patience ourselves.

Due to the crazy amount of traction from our last post, anyone up to run with those rules and everything Saturday? Yes, that is the 4th of July. Hunter's Creek is running the 3rd and this week is a little close for the trophies and everything to be made.
Time would be as at the top of our page; gates at 4, practice at 6, race at 7.

While we're figuring the ""business"" side of things out... would anyone be interested in racing for a trophy and a victory sticker?
Our current idea is to lessen classes (I know. This sucks but until we can get this legal, we're gonna play this respectfully - that includes being quiet-ish.) to stock only. The new (TEMPORARY!!) classes would be as follows.
β’ Kids beginner (ages 5-9)
β’ Kids intermediate (ages 10-15)
β’ Stock light (weight limit: 325 lbs)
β’ Stock medium (weight limit: 350 lbs)
β’ Stock heavy (weight limit: 375 lbs)
β’ Stock superheavy (weight limit: 430 lbs, driver must weigh a minimum of 220lbs)
Notes:
β’ stock means EVERYTHING stock. This isn't ideal for some of you, we know. But to keep things simple, this is how we'll do it for now.
β’ kids can run any plate, any anything, so long as the motor is out-of-the-box stock.
β’ if a younger kid is more advanced, they are welcome to run in the intermediate class.
β’ there will be NO fees. donations are welcome; they will be used for trophies and will be accepted at the Pit Building.
β’ the fighting and not listening rules still apply, along with the "be at staging BEFORE your race starts or you won't run" rule. Please be respectful to the track officials and other attendees by being where you need to be, when you need to be there.
β’ edited to add: stock is referencing stock Predator, not Clone.
Before we figure out any more specifics, would anyone be interested in this type of race?

Thanks to Roll Off (and specifically Chris Smith) for the porta potties - glad we have somewhere to go π

Coming to let y'all know that this page is still active and will continue to be. We're monitoring it daily and still responding to comments and questions.
We probably aren't going to worry about furthering rules and such until we get the zoning mess straightened out, which is actually progressing, believe it or not.
We appreciate all the support that's been poured out for us lately, all the names in the comments of our post asking for signatures, the messages with questions and advice. We appreciate all of you, really.
We're going to keep fighting to get our track up and running. We'll keep you all posted!

Our private meeting was this morning. This is what we were dealt.
This DOES NOT mean we lost the fight. Actually, I'd say it's a good sign. What we figured out is we don't fit nicely in any of the current categories, so they're scrambling to figure out just what rules they need to have for us and how we can be legalized. We're being passed between county departments and they're sort of just trying to figure out how to handle us.
This DOES mean we need to take a break from everything, including practices. We aren't just going to let it sit there. We're going to keep it up and ready because we truly believe we have a good chance.
We have a few steps from here, steps that seem pretty doable. We're not giving up, and quite frankly, we think it's looking pretty good, all things considered. If you're the praying kind, send a couple up for us. Hopefully we can get to race sooner rather than later.

We appreciate y'all coming out tonight! Is there anybody who wasn't able to sign tonight to save the track who wants to? If so (and if you're okay with us signing your name, of course), comment your name(s) and county and we'll add you to the list!
