I'm thrilled to share the fantastic news from the competition on November 17th in Taoyuan, Taiwan. My students won 2nd place in the group competition for the basic form! Out of the 6 participants, we earned a total of 10 medals, 4 of them being gold.

On November 18th, 2024, news from Taoyuan, Taiwan: The 10th Yonghe Cup included 18 teams and nearly 500 participants. The competition events featured Tai Chi forms, Tai Chi saber, Tai Chi sword, Tai Chi staff, Tai Chi push hands, Tai Chi free sparring, Tai Chi paired saber, Tai Chi paired sword, and more. Participants ranged in age from 10 to 84 years old, with competitors even traveling from Massachusetts, USA, to Taoyuan to compete.
This demonstrates Tai Chi's universal appeal, regardless of age or location. It is hoped that this championship will facilitate the exchange of Tai Chi skills, allowing the sport of Tai Chi to continue to thrive.
Note: My teacher, Ms. Chen Xiaoyin (陳曉寅老師) in Taiwan, held a practice/rehearsal session a week before the competition to provide valuable feedback to my students. Her son, Tsai Minxiu (蔡旻修), a well-known photographer, graciously took many excellent photos during the competition. Their support is highly appreciated
