✈️ Travel Alert – Europe ✈️

Starting October 12, 2025, the EU is launching a new Entry/Exit System (EES) for travelers visiting Europe without a visa (e.g., U.S. passport holders). At your first entry, you’ll need to provide fingerprints and a photo, and the system will track your entry/exit dates.

This applies to travel in the Schengen Area — 29 European countries (including France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Greece, Switzerland, and more) where you can move freely between borders.

👉 Expect possible longer wait times at passport control during the rollout.

👉 This is not ETIAS — that will start in 2026.
