Youghiogheny River Lake Official page. One of 16 flood risk management reservoirs in USACE Pittsburgh District.

Authorized by the Flood Control Act of 1938, Youghiogheny River Lake is one of 16 flood control projects in the Pittsburgh District. The project provides flood protection for the Youghiogheny and lower Monongahela River Valleys as well as for the upper Ohio River.

▪️ MILL RUN CAMPGROUND SEASON EXTENDED! ▪️

Great news for campers and lake visitors! Due to the higher water levels at Youghiogheny River Lake, Mill Run Campground will be staying open later than originally planned! 🎉

We would normally close the campground after this weekend, but we are excited to announce that Mill Run Campground will now remain open through October 5th! 🏕️🍂

Mill Run Campground offers a swim beach and boat launch, making it a great place to enjoy the lake and take advantage of the extended camping season. 🚤🏖️🌅

📅 New Closing Date: October 5th

🏕️ Reservations can be made through Recreation.gov

Come enjoy the cooler weather, beautiful fall scenery, and a little extra time at Youghiogheny River Lake!

When paddling on rivers, steer clear of commercial vessels. They have the right of way in a navigation channel. Human-powered vessels should avoid commercial traffic. Boats don’t have brakes and it takes an average of ¾ to 1½ miles for a towboat pushing barges to stop.
