💜 Dancing in Purple for Chiari Awareness 💜

This month, our ESD dancers are wearing purple for someone very special to our Excelsior family—our co-owner, teacher, mentor, and friend, Ms. Liza Pollok, who lives with Chiari malformation.

Chiari malformation is a neurological condition in which part of the brain extends into the spinal canal. While it can look different for every person, it can cause a wide range of symptoms and challenges that aren’t always visible to the people around them.

Those of us who know and love Ms. Liza have seen the strength and determination she carries with her every day. Through the difficult days and the good ones, she continues to pour so much of herself into her students, her fellow teachers, and our ESD family. 💜

So during Chiari Awareness Month, we wanted to fill our studio with purple and show our support—not only for Ms. Liza, but for everyone living with Chiari and the families who walk alongside them.

To our Ms. Liza: we love you, we support you, and today we wear purple for YOU! 💜🩰

Thank you so much to everyone who came out to support Ballet Excelsior at our fundraiser last night. From the joy of setting up and preparing throughout the day to an evening filled with incredible emotion, strength, and the unmistakable presence of the Lord—it was truly unforgettable. We are beyond blessed.

Thank you to each and every one of you who attended and supported us. And to our beautiful girls—thank you. You were absolutely stunning, every single one of you.
