Malcolm Ballistic Tool

We just finished this 1911. The engraving was done by hand as well as the 24k gold and the striking color on the Norwegian flag. It certainly makes a statement, and this customer has something extremely unique to add to his personal collection.

Here’s a sneak peak at a concept I’m working on to add some color to my engraving. We’ll see if this survives the bluing tanks.

Just finished dressing up this R***r 1911 for JC Young. All this scrollwork was done on the fly freehand (no pattern was used). A true one of a kind work of art.

Had a great and awesome time with Alice Carter, Tom Harvey, Ray Cover, John Cook, Fi****ms Engravers Guild of America, and all the talented people at The Hand Engravers Retreat and Expo in Arcadia Mo this weekend. Also wanted to extend heartfelt thanks to Matt and the great staff at the Arcadia Academy for the venue and friendly service! What a fantastic time!

A tribute to the reformation. This fine S&W model 49 has been lavished with full coverage engraving with symbology directed at John Calvin, Jon Hus, Martin Luther, and even Ulrich Zwingli (by omission since he was against symbols of any kind 😉). This was a fascinating project and very fun to do as I love theme engraving. The grips were made here at MBT Fine Custom Fi****ms by me (Tim Malcolm) and I also handled all the bluing on this one. This is 100% my handiwork for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy!

A custom 1911 just finished. We resculpted the grip safety area, and gave it a deep, rich bluing. Also, engraved new roll marks by hand. Can you tell which stamps are original and which are custom? (No googling. Don’t cheat!)

Here is the latest rifle from MBT Fine Custom Fi****ms. Many thanks to Turnbull Restoration for helping us with color case hardening the lever. We reblued the metal, engraved per customer request, nitre blued the appointments and jeweled the bolt. What a transformation!
