MADD Upper Cumberland Men's Church Softball Tournament

Update.....the deadline for the MADD Upper Cumberland Men's Church Softball Tournament is Wednesday August 10 at 10:00pm Central Daylight Time.
We currently have 11 teams signed up and raring to go and have room for 5 more.
Entry fee is $210 for a minimum of 3 games for the day. I would prefer that teams have sanctioned through NSA BEFORE the start of play on Saturday. (If you have not sanctioned before then, I would need to collect an additional $40 for the sanction fee......if you have sanctioned in advance, I will give your team six (6) Dudley Thunder ZN ICON softballs at no cost..... incentive alert).
Home run limit is 4 then an out.....and we will have paid scorekeepers operating scoreboards with the 70 minute game clock to keep the tournament on schedule.

ALL proceeds from the day will benefit MADD Upper Cumberland and our work in the 14 county area.

Right now we are at 8 teams (that have said definitely in) and a bunch more trying to figure it out. We will be limited to a maximum of 16 to be able to get done before sunrise on Sunday morning.
The earlier I know how many fields to use will help me get umpires and scorekeepers lined up.
You have time....the deadline is Wednesday August 10, 2022 AD at 10:00pm CDT.....time is ticking away.
(I should have a new, in the wrapper bat that one team will get just by showing up..... it's not in my hands yet so that's why I said should). We will have a couple of Wilson A360 gloves to give away and some other assorted stuff for drawings throughout the day.

Ok.....since we are just over 30 days out, it's about time I gave you some of the details for our 23rd annual MADD Upper Cumberland men's church softball tournament on Saturday August 13 at the Cane Creek SportsPlex here in Cookeville.
Entry fee of $210 gets your team a minimum of 3 games for the day. The bracket will be double-elimination and there will be a "Redemption bracket" for those teams that start the day 0-2.
The tournament will be an NSA sanctioned event...I need for you to go to the NSA website and pay your sanction fee AND enter your roster before that Saturday the 13th....(there most likely will be an incentive to do this.)....
Softballs....teams can provide their own NSA stamped softballs (must have the word ICON stamped on them)
I will have a supply of NSA stamped softballs available at the SportsPlex on game day at a VERY reasonable price.
Home run limit is 4....then an out.
One courtesy runner per inning is allowed.
We will be providing scorekeepers and operating scoreboards for the tournament.....and we will use a 70 minute game clock to keep the tournament moving.
Again this year, we will have a new, in the wrapper bat that one team will take home just for showing up and participating. And as usual, there will be no admission charge to attend.

A couple of notes........since this is a church tournament that is presented by the local Mothers Against Drunk Driving chapter, ...shirts, caps, bandanas, coolers or any other items with the logo of an alcoholic beverage (s) will NOT be allowed inside the SportsPlex. This should not have to be declared.... however, I have had to deal with this in the past. It will be viewed as disrespectful to the victim families that will be in attendance......and I will NOT allow victim families to be disrespected. (And in past years, I have sent folks back out to the parking lot )
I want the day to be a day of fellowship and fun....for everyone that is in attendance.

The 23rd annual MADD Upper Cumberland men's church softball tournament is scheduled for Saturday August 13 at the Cane Creek SportsPlex in Cookeville TN.
The tournament will guarantee teams a minimum of 3 games for the day......the bracket will be double-elimination and their will be a "redemption bracket " for teams that go 0-2 in the bracket.
We will be an NSA sanctioned tournament again this year and teams will provide their own NSA stamped softballs (these will have the word ICON on them)
I am working on having a supply at the park that day at a very reasonable price (more on that later).
Entry fee is $210 and teams will need to go to playnsatn.com and sanction your team there.
Home run limit will be 4, then an out. Bats must have the NSA 2012 logo on them (pictured below). I will have paid scorekeepers operating scoreboards.
We will use a 70 minute game clock to keep the tournament moving along.
