Every Nationals teaches you something.
This year taught us humility, resilience, and the importance of staying committed to growth.

The 2026 USAT Taekwondo Nationals didn’t end with the medal count we had hoped for. As a coach, that’s never easy. You invest countless hours alongside your athletes, and you want nothing more than to see their dedication pay off.

But medals don’t always tell the whole story.
Our team stepped onto one of the biggest stages in taekwondo and performed the best Poomsae of their lives against some of the toughest competitors in the nation. We were able to finish the week with a silver and a bronze medal, and it was a fitting way to close out a difficult week of competition.

What makes me proud aren’t the medals. It’s the courage to keep stepping back onto the mat after disappointment. It’s the discipline to continue improving when things don’t go your way.
Success isn’t built in a single tournament. It’s built in the early mornings, the late nights, the sore muscles, the setbacks, and the decision to come back tomorrow ready to push forward.

To my athletes and parents: thank you for believing in the journey and representing Minnesota Star Martial Arts with integrity, perseverance, and heart. We’ll take what we learned, head back to the dojang, regroup, refocus, and continue chasing excellence.

This chapter is over, but our story is far from finished.

The Minnesota Star Martial Arts Team took the show to the Blaine Festival and proudly showed everyone what dedication, discipline, and teamwork look like!

From powerful board breaks and dynamic forms to exciting sparring demonstrations, our athletes put on an incredible performance that reflected the hard work they put in every week.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to watch and cheer us on. We are proud to represent our community and share the art of Taekwondo with families throughout the area.
