In Motion Academy of Dance Previously known as the Diane Medeiros Academy of Dance, we continue the tradition of dance education with a focus on the entire well-being of our dancers.

Week two of the In Motion Mirrorball Challenge.

Last night was Viral Hits Night on Dancing with the Stars, and Jenna Dewan and Val, Ezra Frech and Daniella, and Amber Glenn and Pasha tied at the top with a 21. Now it's your turn.

This week's style is jazz. Pick a song that's been all over your feed and give it big lines and bigger personality. Any song works, but bonus style points for a viral hit.

Film 15 to 30 seconds anywhere. Costumes and props absolutely encouraged. Every clip earns another ticket toward the trophy drawing.

Harry Shum Jr. and Jenna Johnson topped the leaderboard on last night's Dancing with the Stars premiere with a cha cha. Now it's your turn.

Sharp, flirty, a little bit of attitude. Film 15 to 30 seconds in the kitchen, the driveway, the studio lobby, wherever. Costumes and props absolutely encouraged.

Every clip you send in earns a ticket toward the trophy drawing. You don't have to be the best, have fun with it!

Dancing with the Stars starts its 35th season tomorrow night. This is our 35th year. We could not let that go to waste.

Introducing the In Motion Mirrorball Challenge.

Five weeks. Five dance styles. Three trophies.

Every Wednesday we announce that week's style. You film yourself dancing it, 15 to 30 seconds, anywhere you want. Kitchen, driveway, backyard, studio lobby. Send it in by Monday at 8pm.

Here is the fun part. Every clip you send in earns you a ticket. Enter all five weeks, that is five tickets. At the end we draw one ticket in each category and that dancer takes home a mirrorball trophy.

Costumes and props are strongly encouraged. Dig out an old recital costume. Grab a hat. Use the dog.

Three categories:
Mini Mirrorball, under 6th grade
Junior Mirrorball, 6th through 12th grade
Alumni Mirrorball, any In Motion dancer, any year, ever

Thirty-five years of dancers have come through these doors. We want to see as many of you as we can back on that stage.

So we are adding an alumni dance to recital.

If you ever took class at In Motion, at any point, in any decade, this is for you. It does not matter if you left last spring or in 1998.

It will be a group number, choreographed to be learned in a handful of rehearsals. You do not need to be in shape. You do not need to remember any of your old combinations. If you can get to the middle of the stage and count to eight, you are in.

We are also planning to share learning videos, so you can pick it up at home and come in ready. If you moved away or your schedule is a mess, this is very doable.

Recital is in June. Dates, rehearsals, and sign-ups are coming soon. We just wanted you to know now so you can start talking your friends into it.

And if you are wondering whether you would be the only one coming back, look at who is teaching here. Christine and every teacher on our staff grew up in this studio.

Tag someone you took class with. Tag your old duo partner. Tag the whole group chat.

Thirty-five years. Let's fill that stage.
